Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 30

A few days later, the temperature dropped again.

The weather forecast predicted the city would soon see its first snow of the season.

Sheila received a call from Aunt Nadine Jensen, asking her and Simon Sinclair to come home for dinner.

Aunt Nadine was Simon's stepmother.

Simon's biological mother had passed away from illness when he was very young.

Aunt Nadine married Simon's dad, didn't have kids of her own, and always treated Simon like her own flesh and blood.

Simon treated her like his real mom, too.

Therefore, Sheila had always treated Simon like her own little brother.

Simon had undoubtedly tattled, telling Aunt Nadine that she had been skipping meals and overworking herself, which was exactly why she had been summoned home for dinner.

But Aunt Nadine was the only family Sheila had left, and the two were incredibly close.

After dinner, Sheila said goodbye and waited downstairs while Simon went to pull the car around.

Glancing up casually, her eyes locked onto a figure in the distance, and she froze.

She saw Jewel Baker.

Jewel wasn't alone. Standing right beside her was a man, seemingly in his early thirties.

The two of them were pressed close together, and the man's arm was wrapped securely around Jewel's waist.

It was undeniably an intimate relationship.

Simon pulled the car up a moment later. Even after Sheila climbed into the passenger seat, she was still completely stunned.

Did Jewel know that Edmond and Pippa were entangled in some ambiguous romance?

Did Edmond know that Jewel was walking around intimately hugging other men?

Whose baby was Jewel even carrying?

What was the actual point of their marriage?

Sheila couldn't even describe the twisted feeling in her chest.

The man she had once given her whole heart to had ultimately chosen a marriage like this.

Was it tragic? Disgusting? She honestly couldn't tell.

The first snow finally began to fall, dragging the temperature down into the bitter negatives.

Marcus Wagner got a call from Dante Spencer first thing in the morning.
