It was just a pity that the great Mr. Halley usually wore an expression as cold as an iceberg, aloof and unsmiling.
Even now, while he was visibly seething, no one could really tell.
At least, Sheila certainly couldn't.
After all, practically every time they had run into each other since their reunion, he had never once given her a friendly look.
Honestly, he had been exactly the same when they first met years ago.
Even when he had initially started pursuing her, his face had been perfectly rigid.
So the very first time he stood in front of her and asked if he could take her out to dinner, she had been entirely bewildered.
Judging solely by his face, anyone would have thought he was there to collect a blood debt.
Not to ask a girl out.
Thankfully, as they got to know each other—especially after they officially got together—she realized that he actually did know how to smile, and that his facial expressions could be incredibly vivid.
But he had only ever shown that side to her.
To everyone else, he remained the perpetually icy CEO.
Back when they were dating and living together, they had shared a spacious apartment.
Tonight, however, he brought her to a massive villa.
It wasn't far from her workplace, only a twenty-minute drive.
Stepping out of the car, she took a look around.
She had heard of this exclusive neighborhood before—it was home to A-list celebrities and the ultra-elite. She never expected she'd be stepping foot inside one day.
"What are you looking at?" his cold voice cut through her thoughts. "Get inside."
She obediently followed him in.
The villa was fully staffed with maids, a private chef, and even a butler.
She watched as the staff buzzed around, quickly covering the dining table with a lavish spread of food.
All these people, just to serve him alone.
What kind of 'life assistant' did he even need her to be?
"Eat first."
He shot her a look. "Why are you just standing there?"
She really wanted to ask him what she was supposed to be doing, but with so many people hovering nearby, she couldn't find the words.
She was completely out of her element.
Even though she had always known who he was and how wealthy he was, during their relationship, they had lived in that apartment and handled almost everything themselves.
