Simon, naturally, wasn't reassured. "You don't understand men. Let me tell you, men are no good!"
Did he just insult himself in the process?
Sheila didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "It's really fine. We're out in public, what could he possibly do?"
Watching them banter back and forth, Edmond only saw a woman who couldn't bear to part with Simon.
He strode toward them.
Simon saw him approaching and stepped forward to block him. "What exactly do you want?"
His tone was laced with hostility, and Sheila instinctively tugged on his sleeve to pull him back.
Edmond caught the little gesture.
It was the kind of subconscious action she only used with people she was close to.
He was practically going insane with jealousy.
Consequently, the glare he aimed at Simon was far from friendly.
Simon took the opportunity to complain to her, "Look at him! He looks like an enraged lion! How are you supposed to talk business with a guy like that?"
She was feeling utterly helpless.
She never expected that on day one, Simon and Edmond would immediately lock horns.
She gave Edmond a look and said softly, "Just wait a second."
With that, she firmly pulled Simon away.
Edmond truly wanted to beat Simon into the ground again.
But he could only fantasize about it.
Simon was now the stepson of Sheila's aunt, Nadine.
If he beat him up, Nadine's future impression of him...
Knowing the risks, he genuinely didn't dare lift a finger.
He could only stand there and let the anger simmer inside him.
Sheila spent a good few minutes talking to Simon before she finally managed to calm him down.
Before leaving, Simon offered one last piece of advice. "Sheila, he's a married man. Just don't do anything foolish."
She knew exactly what he meant and nodded. "I know my boundaries. Don't you trust me?"
