Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 110

When she woke up the next morning, Sheila looked into the bathroom mirror and saw a deeply exhausted version of herself.

She had no idea what time she had finally managed to fall asleep last night.

She had probably only gotten two or three hours of rest in total.

Her eyes were slightly swollen and laced with red veins.

Given her luminous complexion, the dark circles under her eyes were especially stark.

She sighed, washed her face, and put on a sheet mask, forcing herself to focus entirely on her skincare routine to block out everything else.

Once she was ready, she called Cecil. "Cecil, could you come pick me up?"

They had previously agreed to spend the holidays together.

However, she had originally told him she wouldn't head over to his place until New Year's Eve.

Cecil sounded slightly surprised, but mostly pleased. "Right now? Did you get off work early?"

"Yeah, they gave us time off early."

She didn't want to stay in the dorm alone. She was terrified of getting trapped in her own downward spiral of thoughts.

"Alright, I'm on my way."

Cecil arrived quickly, and once again, he was driving himself.

Sheila slid into the passenger seat and tossed her purse in the back.

Cecil frowned as he looked at her. "You were glowing after the spa yesterday. Why do you look so worn out today? Didn't sleep well?"

"Didn't sleep well at all," Sheila admitted. "With the holidays coming up, I'm feeling a bit homesick."

"If you're homesick, we can just fly back," Cecil offered instantly. "I'll go with you, and we can come back in a few days."

"No need to rush back and forth," Sheila said. "The flights alone take two days. Where are you staying right now, Cecil?"

It wasn't until they arrived that she realized Cecil's place was quite close to the Halley Manor.

Cecil shrugged dismissively. "It's just a place I crash at occasionally, so it's nothing fancy. Just making do."

It was a massive three-story villa with a yard well over ten thousand square feet, and he called it 'making do.'

The world of the ultra-rich was truly beyond her comprehension.

He led Sheila inside. "I had someone prep a room for you earlier. See if you like it."

He had given Sheila the master bedroom upstairs with the best natural light.
