Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 106

Although Edmond hadn't returned to his home country, his workload remained incredibly demanding.

Furthermore, he was currently dealing with a mountain of frustrating issues concerning his parents.

Because of some unpleasant events that occurred last year, he had decided not to return for the holidays this time.

Tilly was getting older, and if Vivienne Adler started spouting toxic remarks, the little girl would understand them.

During the holidays, when the whole family gathered, people tended to gossip relentlessly.

Edmond refused to let his daughter grow up in such a toxic environment.

He didn't want Tilly to endure even a fraction of the suffering and coldness he had experienced during his own childhood.

Because of the injury to her leg, Tilly couldn't run around and play outside like she used to.

Edmond had been staying by her side constantly, only managing to get work done while she was resting.

She kept asking for Sheila, but Edmond couldn't get ahold of her.

When Sheila finally texted to say she was buried in work, he had no choice but to try and comfort his daughter on his own.

Today, he had taken advantage of Tilly's naptime to step out and meet a business partner visiting from their home country.

Just as he wrapped up his meeting, he ran into the woman who claimed she was too busy to even eat.

And draped over her shoulders was a jacket that distinctly belonged to a man.

Sheila certainly hadn't expected to bump into Edmond right now, of all times.

"What a coincidence," she said, then, noticing he was alone, added, "Are you by yourself? Is Tilly asleep?"

Edmond stared at her with ice in his eyes. "Whether I'm alone or not is none of your business. And I don't need your fake concern about whether Tilly is asleep either!"

The last time they saw each other was when Edmond came to pick Tilly up.

Despite everything, his attitude had at least been somewhat normal back then.

What was wrong with him today?

Did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

His tone was so bitter and freezing that he looked like the Grim Reaper himself.

Before Sheila could even respond, a horn honked.

Cecil pulled the car up and waved at her. "Sheila, get in."

Sheila instinctively took two steps forward.

The misty rain carried a chill in the breeze—along with the distinct smell of alcohol.

Edmond had clearly had a lot to drink.

She'd just chalk his hostility up to a drunken temper tantrum.

It wasn't worth arguing over.
