She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 669

Just as breakfast was wrapping up, Pip leaned against Rowan's chest, his tiny mouth constantly babbling, "Pa... pa..." The soft, milky voice repeated the sound over and over, and Rowan instantly understood. A few days ago, Charles Jameson had specifically sent over two docile alpacas. They were kept on the expansive back lawn of Blackwood Manor, bought specifically to keep Pip entertained.

Father and son headed out to the backyard. Rowan had the maids slice carrots into thin sticks, handing them to Pip. He guided his son's tiny hands as they fed the alpacas piece by piece. The little boy's eyes sparkled, and he giggled uncontrollably.

Back in the master bedroom, Lyra was sleeping soundly until her phone rang and woke her up. Groggy, she grabbed her phone and answered. Caleb's confused voice came through the speaker. "What did you say to Kayla last night?"

"Why was she brought home by bodyguards?"

Lyra's mind was still fuzzy, but as she woke up, she remembered. She had been so furious and drained last night that she couldn't deal with anyone else, so Rowan had arranged for the bodyguards to take Kayla home.

"Is Kayla okay?"

"She was in terrible shape when she got back. She broke down crying and confessed to emotional cheating. But no matter how hard I pressed, she refused to tell me who the guy was. She said she didn't deserve my forgiveness, but begged me not to divorce her. She was practically hysterical, holding Hazel and crying."

Lyra hadn't expected her sister-in-law to confess. "Mom will be worried if she heard..."

"Mom was downstairs with the door shut, praying. She didn't hear."

Caleb paused, then asked, "Kayla just goes to work and comes home. She doesn't even like going out. Who could she possibly cheat with? She's begging for my forgiveness but absolutely refuses to name the guy. Do you think I should forgive her?"

Lyra rubbed her temples. "Whether you forgive her or not is a question only you can answer. This is a private matter between husband and wife. You two need to work it out yourselves. You don't need to ask me..."

Caleb was slightly taken aback. In the past, his sister was always eager to help sort out the trivial issues between him and Kayla. But now, her attitude was entirely detached, clearly showing she wanted no part in it. Left with no choice, he hung up.

Lyra got up, washed her face, and ate breakfast. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a wide view, and she could clearly see the two figures on the back lawn. Rowan was helping Pip feed the alpacas—a perfectly tranquil scene.

As if sensing her gaze through the glass, Rowan instinctively looked up. His eyes met Lyra's straight on. A faint smile touched his lips as he pointed out her location to Pip, then raised a hand and gave a little wave.

Not long after, Rowan carried Pip back inside at a leisurely pace. As soon as Pip saw Lyra sitting at the dining table, he called out in his sweet, baby voice, "Mama..."

Just then, Andrea Nash arrived at Blackwood Manor for work. Rowan said nothing more and walked out the door.

In the afternoon, Pip's godmother arrived.

Sabrina Vance spun Pip around in her arms, making him giggle with delight. Pip was more than happy to let her hold him. Later, when the nanny took him away for a nap, Sabrina turned to Lyra.

"My family has been setting me up on blind dates lately. And I actually got set up with Jayden Ward. Considering we both love you so much, I decided to give him a chance. I came over today to see how you felt about it."

Lyra: "?"

Sabrina: "Lyra, you wouldn't mind, would you?"

Lyra immediately waved her hands. "That's wonderful news! I don't mind at all."
