Recalling her conversation with Julia, Melanie couldn’t help but laugh. 

She thought that Edward was indeed a funny guy. If he wanted her to pick him up, he could have just said so instead of beating around the bush and trying to be clever. 

“You deserved that. If you wanted me to pick you up, you could have just told me directly. Why would you tell Julia about it?” 

Edward cast a resentful glance at Melanie but didn’t say anything in response. 

Melanie had a feeling that Edward seemed off that day. Who knew that a man could b
