Chapter 82 

Sometimes, when Melanie was hungry, she would make a bit of noise while eati 

eating Edward, on the other hand, was always silent. The only sound he would produce was the sound of mindful chewing. Compared to him, Melanie thought she was pretty unsophisticated. 

Sitting by the couch, Melanie drank her cup of water. By the time she was done, Edward had already finished his lunchbox. He then got up to wash it. Once he was done with the washing, Melanie said, “It’s getting late. I should head back. You don’t need to give me a ride. I can take the bus.” 

Edward didn’t respond to what she said. Instead, he got ready to go out. 

“Let’s go. I’m driving you back.” 

Melanie chose not to say anything more since he had spoken. Being driven around was certainly better than squeezing onto a bus and becoming tired. 

As she descended the stairs, Melanie bumped into Gabrielle. When Gabrielle saw the two of them coming out one after the other, her smile immediately 

Vanished. 

She stared at Melanie with obvious disdain. However, since Edward had reprimanded her the last time, she didn’t say anything to Melanie and simply turned 

away to leave. 

Melanie rolled her eyes and ignored her. 

Once she got into the car, she remembered she wasn’t going to the boutique but to Anna’s place instead. 

Edward didn’t speak the entire way, concentrating on driving as if he had placed all his attention on the road. 

Melanie wanted to speak several times but ultimately didn’t say anything 

She thought that he sure knew how to keep his cool. After all, it was impossible for him not to know why she came to his workplace to deliver lunch. She felt that he could have at least said a few nice things to ease their tension. 

Just as they were about to arrive at Anna’s house, Edward finally spoke up 

“Let’s put yesterday’s incident behind us. I won’t mention it again.” 

Melanie was taken aback, belatedly realizing that he knew all along and had intentionally kept quiet to make her anxious. 

Regardless, she thought he was relatively easy to cheer up. He was so much like a child who could be appeased by food. 

With her mood now better, Melanie smiled and said, “Don’t worry. I won’t be handling things that way again. No matter what happens, I will discuss it with you in advance.” 

“I admit I was wrong this time and reflected on it last night. You had every right to be angry. I will definitely do things differently in the future. 

One of Melanie’s good traits was her ability to acknowledge and correct her mistakes. If she ever did something wrong, she would always admit it without hesitation and correct it promptly. 

All Edward really wanted was for her to show the right attitude, Now that Melanie had promised not to act impulsively and to talk things over with him, he saw no reason to be so strict with her.

When Melanie exited the car, she instinctively parted Edward’s thigh.
