Chapter 19 

Edward took a moment to think before responding, carefully considering Melanie’s words. 

It was great that she had shown the initiative to think about supporting herself, but he knew that starting a business wasn’t as easy as it sounded. There was risk that she might end up losing money instead of making it, and if she overexerted herself while pregnant with twins, the consequences could be dire. 

Yet, looking at the determination in her eyes, he found it hard to outright refuse her. He appreciated her strong–willed nature; she wasn’t the useless person others had painted her to be. 

“That’s a great idea. If you want to 

otry, I’ll support you fully. Even if you end up losing some money, it’s fine; I can cover that. Think of it as gaining experience. However, we’ll need to convince Dad and Mom first,” he said, deciding to back her up. 

After all, even if he was just her husband in name, it was his duty to stand by her side. 

Melanie was surprised by his response. Once the initial shock faded, a smile spread across her face. “I believe with your skills, you can help persuade them.” She effectively handed the responsibility of convincing his family to him, catching Edward off guard. He realized he had walked tight into her trap. She was clever 

than he had expected. 

“Alright, I’ll do my best,” he replied. 

As she looked at him, she found him much more likable. Putting everything aside, he was a good husband who genuinely cared about her. 

While browsing through the shops, she concluded that selling clothing would be a profitable venture. With an increasing number of wealthy individuals around, fashion had diversified beyond the simple black, white, and gray. The low initial investment and high profit margins made it appealing. 

She had considered opening a small hotel as well since there was potential for profit in that area. After all, accommodations often lacked good service but charged high prices. However, she would need a larger capital to start a hotel, so she planned to save up some money before thinking about it further. 

“Alright, I’ve seen enough. Let’s head back,” she finally said, feeling she had gathered enough information. The summer heat had her sweating, and she was ready 

to retum 

Edward bit his lip, then suggested, “How about I take you to see a movie? 

He had heard from his colleagues that typical dates involved having dinner and catching a movie or simply going for a walk in the park. They had skipped that part and gone straight to getting married, so he wanted to make up for it. 

Melanie almost turned him down, but then she remembered that while she had seen plenty of movies, she had never been to a cinema from the 1980s. It would be interesting to experience the unique atmosphere of this era. 

“Sure, I haven’t seen a movie in a while,” she agreed. He smiled and hopped on the bicycle, with Melanie taking i

place behind him. They pedaled their way to the cinema. 

The road became bumpy for a stretch, so Edward intentionally slowed down. For safety’s sake, Melanie wrapped her arms around his waist. After all, they were married; they had already seen each other without their clothes, so a little embrace wouldn’t hurt. 

As she hugged him, he noticeably stiffened for a moment before relaxing again. 

Once they arrived at the cinema, she was struck by the hand–painted posters. They caught her eye, and she couldn’t help but admire them. 

When it was time to buy tickets, Edward consulted her on what to watch, and they settled on “Almost Like Fate“. It was a heartwarming romance, perfect for young Couples. 

Upon entering the screening room, Melanie focused intently on the movie. It turned out to be quite captivating, and she quickly became engrossed in the story unfolding on the screen.
