No More Mrs. Forgotten novel Chapter 16

This fear was purely instinctual; it wasn't that she was genuinely terrified of York. It was just that... this was the first time York had ever exploded with such intense rage at her. It was the kind of frantic fury that made him look like he wanted to tear her apart.

Sharon's tears fell completely out of her control.

Wanda was terrified. She rushed forward to intervene. "Oh, sir, please don't yell at your wife like that! You can't treat her this way, you know she's always been timid and delicate..."

Before Wanda could even finish her sentence, York shot her a murderous glare. "Shut your mouth."

Wanda's mouth hung open, but she ultimately... swallowed the rest of her words. An enraged York was, admittedly, quite a terrifying sight.

Sharon took a deep breath, staring straight at him. "I don't have a million questions. I just have one. If I pack up and move back to my parents' place—if I'm not even living here—are you still going to insist on bringing Emeline into this house to care for her?"

She had actually asked this question once before. It was a couple of days ago when York had called her, but he hadn't given her a straight answer then. He had only repeated that Emeline needed him.

Now, she wanted his most direct answer!

"Yes, or no?" Sharon pressed.

York didn't hesitate for a second. He spoke his exact thoughts frankly. "Yes."

That single word shattered Sharon into a million pieces. She fell completely silent, frozen in place.

Just then, York asked, "Are you satisfied now?"

Sharon just looked at him, motionless and silent.

After a long pause, York sank back onto the sofa.

Suddenly, Sharon erupted. "Fine. Then bring her back here and take care of her. I'll make room for you two."

With that, she turned on her heel and marched straight toward the kitchen.

York's voice trailed after her. "You're completely out of your mind. Why do you insist on obsessing over this? You owe Emeline, and you owe Caleb. This is the compensation you should be offering. I honestly don't know why you're being so incredibly stubborn. Make room? What room are you making?"

With that, Sharon raised the hammer and started smashing.

This house had been her ultimate labor of love, right down to the most minuscule decorative details. Even the exact placement of every flower arrangement was something she had painstakingly agonized over.

And then... there was the massive wall of wine in the main living room. York had a passion for collecting fine wines, so Sharon had curated a massive collection just for him.

The wall-to-wall wine display wasn't just stunningly designed, elegant, and luxurious. It was also stocked with numerous out-of-print, wildly expensive bottles. Some were the only remaining bottles of their kind in the entire world. She had exhausted all her energy, spent astronomical amounts of money, and practically begged people to acquire them.

There were even a few bottles that she had shamelessly "stolen" or pleaded for from Josiah's personal stash.

This was the area she treasured above all else in the house!

And it was probably the only area in the entire house that York actually cared about. Perhaps he just liked collecting wine, or perhaps he just liked watching her bend over backward for him.

But right now... she didn't want it anymore! He didn't even want her or their baby, so why should she care about a stupid wall of wine?
