In broad daylight... Couldn't Mr. Lancaster show a little restraint?
Absolute animal. Was this the kind of predatory hunger Nora had to endure on a daily basis?
For a moment, the two of them looked as though they wanted to slap the word 'brute' right across Hudson's forehead.
Hudson frowned deeply. "What is it? Spit it out."
"Oh, right." Sebastian seemed to suddenly remember his purpose and quickly said, "Ms. Vaughn is here. She brought a few wealthy heirs with her. I'm not sure what they want, but she asked for you by name, Mr. Lancaster."
Phoebe Vaughn was here?
Hudson narrowed his eyes slightly. This was San Francisco. There was no reason for his whereabouts to be leaking like a sieve. The only logical explanation was that someone had tipped her off.
As for who that person might be...
"Go get Finnian," Hudson said, glancing at Grant.
"Huh? Oh, sure. I'll go grab Finnian in a bit."
"Let him entertain the guests she brought. I need to change."
With that, before either of them could react, Hudson turned and headed back into his room.
"Mr..."
Slam.
The door shut, nearly taking off Sebastian's nose in the process.
He stood there in stunned silence.
However, the two of them weren't idiots. Hudson's words had given them something to chew on.
Finnian and Phoebe?
What was going on there?
Hadn't the Fairchild family teamed up with Vincent?
Why was Finnian suddenly getting mixed up with Phoebe?
Could it be that the two of them were planning a marriage of convenience?
...
By the time Hudson returned to the room, Nora had already touched up her makeup. Her cheeks, however, were still flushed, resembling the tip of a ripe peach.
"Phoebe brought a few people over. They're likely here to discuss business. Do you want to come down with me?"
Hearing the nature of the gathering, Nora quickly waved her hands. "Never mind. I think I'll just go hang out with Chloe and the others."
She held up her phone screen for him to see. It was a message from Chloe, saying they had already secured a spot in the billiards room and urging her to hurry over.
Hudson nodded. "That works. Have fun. I'll come find you when I'm done."
"Okay."
Soon after, Hudson changed into a fresh suit and headed downstairs.
Pushing the door open, he saw Phoebe sitting on the sofa with her legs crossed. Her sunglasses were pushed up on her forehead, revealing a strikingly bold and radiant face. Behind her stood over a dozen bodyguards in crisp black suits. They were all tall and imposing, standing there like a row of iron towers. Her entourage was just as grandiose as Vincent's.
These siblings.
They truly were cut from the same cloth.
