Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 667

The Cloudwater Estate's basement was located in the backyard.

Walking down the long, winding corridor, the air grew heavy with a damp, metallic scent.

Harvey was chained to a steel bed in the innermost cell.

Having not been seen for months, he had lost an alarming amount of weight. His cheekbones jutted out sharply, and his eyes were sunken deep into his skull. His left eye socket was hollowed out, leaving only a jagged, horrifying surgical scar that crawled across his face like a dried centipede.

Hearing footsteps, he jerked his head up, but the sudden movement pulled at his wounds, forcing him to grit his teeth in agony.

Hudson stopped two paces away from the steel bed, gazing down at him with cold indifference.

Arthur dragged a wooden stool from the corner, wiped it down with his sleeve, and placed it behind Hudson.

Hudson sat down, crossing his long legs, and casually rested an arm on his knee. "I heard you wanted to see me?"

Harvey stared back, his single eye swirling with a storm of complex emotions. His Adam's apple bobbed. "I want to destroy Lawrence! Help me do it, and my life is yours."

Hudson let out a soft laugh, though the amusement didn't reach his eyes. "In terms of combat, you can't beat Arthur. In terms of intellect, you can't outsmart Archer. In terms of loyalty, you pale in comparison to Olive..."

He paused, his tone turning glacial. "There are plenty of people begging to be my dog. Tell me, why would I want your life?"

Harvey's face cycled through shades of pale and green, knowing full well Hudson was telling the truth.

He clenched his unchained hand so tightly his nails dug into his palm, his knuckles turning white as his joints popped in the tense silence.

He and his older brother had been adopted by Lawrence since they were children. Despite all the suffering they endured, the brothers never once backed down, viewing Lawrence as their true father.

They would have gladly died for him!

Yet Lawrence, blinded by baseless paranoia, had murdered his brother and blinded him in one eye!

If Harvey hadn't been lucky, he would already be a corpse.

This grudge would be settled.

Harvey gritted his teeth, his hatred so potent his voice trembled. "I am useful! I... I know the layout of all of Lawrence's forces, both the visible ones and the hidden ones. And..."

He paused, swallowing hard. "And the company Archer built years ago—the one Lawrence stole. Its internal structure has been reorganized three times. I handled every single change. I know exactly where every cent went."

Arthur frowned slightly, instinctively glancing at Hudson.

But Hudson's expression remained perfectly passive. He tapped his finger rhythmically against his knee, showing no urgency.

Harvey waited for a few agonizing seconds. When Hudson didn't react, he gritted his teeth and lowered his voice to a desperate hiss. "I also know... he planted a mole in your inner circle. Lawrence said it himself. That mole is his ultimate trump card!"

Hudson's tapping finger stopped.

He lifted his gaze to Harvey. The look wasn't particularly cold—in fact, it was almost serene—but being pinned under that stare made a cold sweat break out across Harvey's back.
