Since that night, she haunted his dreams.
He wanted nothing more than to drown in those dreams forever, but waking up only brought an unbearable, agonizing emptiness.
He genuinely felt like he was losing his mind. How had he suddenly started coveting his best friend's wife?!
He had even gone to see a therapist, but it was useless.
He didn't even understand what had happened to him.
How had he become this obsessed?
Finnian stared at him, his lips pressed together in a tight, disbelieving line.
He had known Jude for years and had never seen him like this.
In his mind, Jude had always been the epitome of control—a true gentleman, composed and disciplined.
His personal life had always been completely spotless. He hadn't even had a girlfriend in years.
Rumors claimed he was staying single out of devotion to Liana Fairchild, but Finnian knew the truth: Jude simply hadn't met anyone who sparked anything real inside him.
But Finnian had never imagined that when Jude finally did fall, it would be for Hudson's woman.
"Jude, she's Hudson's wife. You can't..."
Before Finnian could finish, Jude cut him off, his voice flat but resolute. "I know. I'm not going to do anything."
He looked up at Finnian, his eyes calm and resigned. "I won't let her find out, and I won't cross any lines. I'm just going to care for her quietly from a distance. I won't disrupt anyone's life."
Finnian parted his lips to argue, but the words died in his throat.
He knew Jude's character. Jude was a gentleman; he would never stoop to sabotaging a marriage.
Finnian sighed heavily. "Forget it. As long as you know what you're doing. Just don't let Hudson catch on. If he does, you two won't even be friends anymore."
"I know."
Jude responded softly. It was hard to tell if he was reassuring Finnian or himself. "I know. I won't cross the line."

The Executive Suite on the top floor was even more luxurious than Nora had anticipated.
Floor-to-ceiling windows offered a breathtaking, panoramic view of the mountains shrouded in the night sky.
The hot spring tub was situated on the terrace. It wasn't massive, but it was exquisitely designed with dark grey stone. Thick steam curled upward into the cold air, giving the entire space a dreamy, secluded atmosphere.
Nora dropped her suitcase and turned to Hudson. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"
Hudson's lips curved upward. He reached out and lightly tapped her nose. "It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you, would it? Are you happy, honey?"
Nora was thrilled, but she kept her face carefully neutral. "It's alright, I guess."
Hudson let out a low chuckle, stepping in to whisper against her ear. "Then who was it last night, whining about me leaving for three days and refusing to let go of me?"
"Hudson!" Nora's ears flared bright red. She spun around and clamped a hand over his mouth.
How could he just say things like that out loud?
