In the middle of the office, Harrison and Seraphina's screaming match escalated into a full-blown physical brawl, instantly abandoning their united front.
Bored by the spectacle, Hudson finally tilted his head. "Are you two done?"
They froze instantly, caught in mid-swing with feral expressions still plastered across their faces.
"Mr... Mr. Lancaster, please let me explain..."
Harrison collapsed to the floor in defeat, his voice trembling violently. "I swear I didn't know Nora was your wife. If you gave me a hundred lives, I wouldn't dare..."
He frantically apologized, his voice breaking as panic consumed him. "I was blind! I was a fool! Please, Mr. Lancaster, have mercy this once!"
Terrified out of her mind, Seraphina cowered at Nora's feet, desperately reaching for the hem of her skirt. "Nora... Class Monitor, I was wrong. I was so wrong. Please, for the sake of our college days, let me off. I promise I'll never do it again."
Noticing that Hudson wasn't sparing him a single glance, Harrison quickly scrambled toward Nora as well.
The married couple slumped side by side in a pitiful state, utterly stripped of their previous arrogance.
"Mrs. Lancaster, we were blind fools. We deserve whatever we get, but please have mercy..."
Nora looked down at them, feeling completely empty of sympathy.
When they orchestrated the vicious online attacks, did they ever consider the word 'mercy'?
She gave a soft laugh, her eyes locking onto Seraphina. "When you launched that public smear campaign, did you care that we were college classmates?"
Seraphina choked on her sobs, her lips trembling, unable to form a single excuse.
Impatient, Hudson tilted his chin toward the door.
Arthur stepped forward with a deadpan expression, grabbing them both by the scruffs of their necks and dragging them out.
Harrison and Seraphina thrashed and begged, but Arthur's grip was like iron.
"Mrs. Lancaster! We were wrong! We'll never do it again!"
"Class Monitor! Nora..."
Their desperate cries faded down the corridor, finally silenced by the heavy thud of the elevator doors.
The door clicked shut behind her, leaving a brief, quiet pause in the room.
"My fault..."
"My fault..."
They spoke at the exact same time.
Hearing the overlap, they exchanged a look and simultaneously broke into laughter.
"What exactly are you apologizing for?"
Nora tilted her head, amused.
She knew her own fault—she had insisted on hiding their relationship out of stubborn pride.
But what was Hudson taking the blame for?
Hudson chuckled, lacing his fingers through hers. "I'm the one who fired Harrison. Giving you this kind of headache is obviously my fault."
