Meanwhile, at the Reed Residence.
The moment Jade stepped through the door, she tossed her baseball cap onto the sofa.
Thinking about the results of her busy morning, she felt an overwhelming surge of smug satisfaction.
Let's see how Nora manages to show her face at the company now!
She was going to drag Nora's reputation through the mud and make sure the whole world spat on her!
"Jade? Why are you up so early?"
Just then, Marcus Reed came down the stairs, looking bewildered to see his daughter sitting on the couch in a tracksuit.
After all, the girl normally didn't crawl out of bed until the sun was high in the sky.
Seeing him, Jade immediately sprang up and latched onto his arm. "Dad! You said you were going to help me deal with Nora. How's the plan coming?"
At the mention of this, Marcus frowned slightly, his voice taking on a heavy tone. "The lawyers are drafting the paperwork. But these things take time. We have to follow the legal process."
"Lawyers? Legal process?"
It finally dawned on Jade that his idea of 'dealing with her' was strictly bureaucratic.
A wave of panic washed over her.
No one knew better than her exactly how that marriage certificate had been forged.
"How long is a legal process going to take? I can't wait another day!"
Jade's voice grew shrill with desperation. "Dad, do you have any idea how much sleep I'm losing? Every time I think about that miserable brat stealing my place and sleeping with my husband, I want to die..."
"Jade..."
"I don't want to hear it!" She covered her ears, fat tears rolling down her cheeks.
At this point, she didn't even care if she actually became the Lancaster matriarch.
She just wanted to obliterate Nora!
Why should Nora get to have the things she couldn't?
And use her as a stepping stone to do it?
She wouldn't accept it!
She would rather die than let her win!
Seeing her father's deep frown, Jade knew he was wavering. She immediately pressed her advantage. "Dad, I'm begging you. Just help me this one time, please?"
Marcus squeezed his eyes shut, taking a ragged breath.
"Jade, it's not that I don't want to help you. The biggest issue here is Hudson's stance. If he's unwilling, nobody can force his hand..."
