Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 426

"Ah? So soon? We didn't even get to check out your art exhibition together..."

"Next time, for sure." Sienna seemed to remember something. "Oh, right! I left a painting for you at the gallery. You probably know which one... just go pick it up yourself. I already told the curator."

"Is it the painting 'Reminiscence'?"

Sienna grinned. "I knew we were on the same wavelength... Alright, I need to go pack. Let's catch up later!"

Reluctantly, Nora hung up the phone.

She hadn't expected Sienna to return to Northampton so abruptly. She thought they'd have a few more days to hang out.

For some inexplicable reason, she suddenly wanted to go to Northampton, too.

Even though she had grown up there, none of her memories of the city were particularly fond. But now, knowing Hudson was there, the dreary northern city somehow felt a little brighter.

Maybe a trip back down memory lane wouldn't be so bad...

Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the black SUV pulling up to the entrance of Star Tower.

Nora stepped out of the car. The second she walked into the lobby, she noticed the bizarre stares directed her way.

A group of receptionists had been chatting and laughing, but the moment they saw her, they snapped their mouths shut, lowering their heads to feign busywork.

Nora paused, her brow furrowing.

When she stepped into the elevator, two colleagues were already inside. Seeing her, they exchanged a loaded glance and collectively shuffled half a step away, putting clear distance between them.

"Morning, Director Reed," one of them greeted stiffly.

"Morning." Nora gave a terse nod.

As the elevator ascended, the heavy silence remained unbroken.

Nora stared at her own reflection in the metal doors, her frown deepening.

Was she just imagining things?

Why was everyone looking at her like she was radioactive?

[Nora Reed is a shameless homewrecker! She stole another woman's husband! Disgusting!]

Nora stared at the photo, her eyes narrowing sharply. "When were these put up?"

"First thing this morning. By the time security found them, tons of people had already seen them. Even though they tore them down immediately, the pictures are already everywhere. The company group chats are blowing up."

Chloe's voice dropped to an anxious whisper. "Nora, what is going on? Who would do something this vicious to you?"

A cold, cynical smile curled Nora's lips.

Who else but Jade Reed?

When her little stunt at the Grand Matriarch's Gala failed, she had simply pivoted to plastering Slanderous Posters right outside her office.

Seeing Nora's silence, Chloe grew even more frantic. "Nora, say something! You're stressing me out! What are we going to do?"

"What else can we do?" Nora handed the phone back.

"Call the police."
