Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 425

After breakfast, Olive drove Nora to the office.

Nora felt a gloomy weight settling in her chest the entire ride.

It wasn't like she and Hudson hadn't been apart before.

But after spending every waking moment together recently, she had grown entirely accustomed to his presence.

Never in her life had she relied on someone this much.

Thinking about it now, she felt like she was regressing...

Nora shook her head, forcing herself to stop dwelling on him.

But seconds later, she pulled out her phone, wanting to ask what time his flight was and how long he'd be gone...

Just as she unlocked the screen, she bit her lip—never mind, she would just wait for him to call when he had a moment.

With that thought, she closed Hudson's chat and opened Sienna's, typing out a quick message.

[Sienna, how are you? Did they discharge you from the hospital?]

The moment the text went through, Sienna's voice call popped up on the screen.

"Don't worry about me, Norie! It was just a little anemia. I'm completely fine now."

Hearing the booming energy in Sienna's voice, Nora finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"What about Finnian? Did he give you a hard time over his adopted sister?"

"Nope, as if I'd let him!" Sienna paused, a wicked, conspiratorial giggle slipping through the speaker. "I made him pay off his debts with his body last night!"

Nora: "..."

Sienna only had one takeaway from last night—the legendary stamina of a jackhammer actually existed.

She was starting to suspect Finnian's hips were blessed by God himself.

He had so much energy!

At the very least, she and Hudson had always used protection, and they'd never had a single scare.

"What if the thing breaks?"

Nora frowned. "Then the chances of getting pregnant go way up. Sienna, are you saying you and Finnian broke the... you know... last night?"

"No, no, just asking hypothetically."

Nora pressed her lips together, thoroughly unconvinced that Sienna would ask such a specific question out of nowhere. It had to be true.

"If that happens, you really need to take the morning-after pill. It works as long as you take it within seventy-two hours..."

Before she could finish her medical advice, Sienna cut her off with a cheerful laugh. "Alright, I get it. You..."

She suddenly paused. A low male voice drifted through the speaker, and Nora could just barely make out the word 'Northampton'.

The next second, Sienna spoke again, sounding utterly disappointed. "Ugh, Finnian said there's an emergency in Northampton. He has to head back immediately, so I have to go with him..."

Nora thought of the urgent call Hudson had received that morning. It seemed Finnian's emergency was the exact same thing.
