Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 159

Hudson remained silent.

He looked down at his slightly trembling fingers.

It was the precursor to a total loss of control.

Once this condition flared up, it would take days of relentless release to force it back down.

He either had to hurt someone.

Or hurt himself.

Or...

Give in to pure lust.

Watching his profile, Arthur knew exactly what was going through his head.

The Boss was extremely particular about who he took to bed.

Aside from Nora, he wouldn't touch another woman.

"Should I call Liam and see if he has any ideas?"

Hudson scoffed coldly. "What could he possibly do?"

Liam had been relentlessly pushing hypnotherapy to treat him. But the way Hudson saw it, the second he went under and lost his senses, he'd snap the hypnotist's neck before they even got started!

Arthur licked his lips, choosing his words with extreme care.

"Boss, what if... you let your wife help?"

Hudson turned his head and gave him a look.

It was a flat, emotionless stare, yet it made a layer of cold sweat instantly break out across Arthur's back.

"Boss, I was just thinking out loud..."

Hudson looked away, picked up his shirt from the ropes, and slowly put it on.

He buttoned it up one by one, from the bottom to the top, his movements unhurried.

"Tell Nora I won't be coming home for the next few days."

"Understood, Boss."

...

That night, at Cloudwater Estate.

Nora sat on the sofa, clutching a mug of hot tea, staring blankly at the TV.

She had zero idea what was playing; her mind was a whirlwind of chaotic thoughts.

She thought her little act yesterday had finally won Hudson over.

She had poured her heart out to him, and even initiated a kiss.

Even though he had kissed her back like he wanted to devour her alive, he hadn't actually done anything to her in the end, right?

He even held her while they slept the entire night.

Logically speaking, he should be on her side by now.

But today, Hudson hadn't called her once. He hadn't even sent a text.

After hanging up, Nora pulled her knees to her chest and buried her face in her arms.

Only one thought kept looping in her mind—

Hudson...

He was definitely going to settle the score with her.

...

At that exact moment, Hudson walked out of the locker room.

He had changed into a clean black silk shirt. His hair was still damp, pushed casually back, emphasizing his strong forehead and deep-set eyes.

"Boss."

Arthur stood by the door, still holding the phone, and immediately handed him a bottle of water.

Hudson took the water and took a long drink, his Adam's apple bobbing. "Who was on the phone?"

"Mrs. Lancaster called just now."

Hudson's fingers paused slightly. He stopped twisting the cap for a fraction of a second before smoothly finishing the motion.

"What did she say?"

"She was asking when you were coming back. I told her you wouldn't be home tonight and that she should go to sleep."

Hudson didn't respond. He set the water bottle down and slowly fastened his cuffs.

Arthur waited a moment before he couldn't help but ask, "Boss, maybe... we should go back and check on her?"
