Arthur immediately followed.
Olive stood alone in the room, watching the two men disappear down the corridor, blinking in confusion.
She tilted her head, a wildly inappropriate thought popping into her brain.
Wait. Was the Boss...
Was he going to use Arthur to blow off steam?
No, that couldn't be it.
The Boss wasn't into guys.
Tsk. What a waste...
With a face that aggressively handsome, if he swung both ways, imagine the drama!
Olive shook her head, tossing the bizarre fantasies out of her mind, and got back to work.
She picked up a towel from the floor, crouched down next to Silas, and meticulously wiped every single fingerprint off the knife before gripping it tight in her own hand to leave her prints.
Once that was done, she checked the whip mark on her leg to make sure it looked sufficiently horrifying. Finally, she picked up Silas's phone and dialed 911.
The second the call connected, Olive's expression flipped entirely.
Those cold, dead eyes instantly brimmed with tears. Her lips trembled, and her voice became choked with sobs—soft, sweet, and exactly like a terrified little rabbit.
"Hello... is... is this 911?"
Her voice shook uncontrollably, laced with sheer terror as she stammered, "I... I need to report a crime. Someone is keeping sex slaves... it's not just me... there are so many of us... we were kidnapped... I... I stabbed him..."
The dispatcher on the other end immediately went on high alert. "Miss, please stay calm. Take a deep breath. Can you tell me your location?"
Olive let out a pathetic sob and rattled off the estate's address, her voice breaking every few words, as if she were desperately fighting back a breakdown.
"Please... please hurry... I'm so scared..."
Hanging up the phone, Olive tossed it to the floor. The tear tracks were still on her cheeks, but her eyes had returned to their usual deadpan coldness. She wiped her face in total disgust.
Ugh.
So annoying.
Acting like a weak little victim was exhausting.
...
Facing Hudson, he obviously couldn't go for the kill.
But if he held back, the Boss was going to beat him into a bloody pulp...
Unsurprisingly, a few hours later, Arthur was slammed into the mat for the hundredth time. He didn't have an ounce of strength left to stand.
He lay flat on his back, gasping for air, his chest heaving violently.
Hudson took another long swig of water. "Alright, get out."
Arthur forced himself into a sitting position, rolling his joints to ensure nothing was broken, and finally let out a sigh of relief.
"Boss."
Hudson screwed the cap back onto the bottle, tossed it aside, and glanced at him sideways.
"Speak."
Arthur licked his split lip, choosing his words carefully.
"What's the plan for the next few days? Are we... heading back to Cloudwater Estate?"
