"Don't panic, don't panic! How could your mother ever let anything happen to you! Tell your sister to figure it out; she can definitely get the cash!"
"Figure it out? What can she do? Didn't she say on the phone yesterday that she's broke!" Miles snarled viciously.
"Then call her right now! Her husband is a Roth; he's the golden boy of that prestigious medical family!"
"The Roths own so many clinics, thirty thousand dollars is pocket change for them! She just doesn't want to save me!"
"Okay, okay, I'll call her right now!" Miriam quickly pulled out her phone, her tone filled with entitled reassurance.
"She wouldn't dare hold out on us! We put food on her plate her whole life. Now that she's married into money, what's wrong with helping her little brother out? Don't worry, even if I have to throw a tantrum at the Roth estate's front gates, I'll force her to hand over the cash!"
Standing outside the door, Eliza listened to their exchange and suddenly let out a humorless laugh.
They had never once cared if she lived or died.
They didn't care what kind of hell she endured with the Roths, or how Zander's parents belittled and humiliated her.
In their eyes, she wasn't a daughter; she was an ATM permanently tethered to the wealthy Roth dynasty.
Every ounce of emotion she had been holding back erupted at that moment.
She wondered what kind of faces they would make once they found out she was walking away with nothing.
Eliza kicked the ajar door wide open.
The three people inside snapped their heads around, staring at her in shock.
"Weren't you going to jump?"
Eliza scoffed coldly.
"The window is right there. Go jump! Jump right now and end it!"
