Left for Dead Came Back for Everything novel Chapter 61

"What are you waiting for! Get in! Hurry up, girl!" Gwen Jordan shoved Eliza Shaw into the passenger seat.

She then slipped into the driver's seat with crisp efficiency.

And so, this bizarrely assembled group set off for dinner!

Gwen started the car, her hands gripping the steering wheel while her eyes darted wildly to the right.

She shot Eliza a series of exaggerated winks.

Her expression screamed: Look at you, Eliza! Keeping it on the down-low while bagging an untouchable god like Julian Lawrence?

Eliza felt like she was sitting on pins and needles under that gaze, letting out an exasperated sigh and rolling her eyes at the car roof.

Bagged him, her foot! He just happened to be passing by!

How did things end up like this?

The atmosphere inside the car was so suffocating that Eliza genuinely wanted to tuck and roll out the door.

She instinctively looked up, sneaking a peek into the rearview mirror at the back seat.

One glance was all it took for her to gasp.

In the spacious back seat, three tall, long-legged men were crammed together.

On the left sat her best friend's brother, Hudson Jordan, his hands folded neatly in his lap, staring straight ahead with an icy, ascetic aura that practically broadcasted he didn't know the other two.

He looked like a ruthless businessman forced into a cheap carpool.

On the right sat Julian, leaning back with effortless grace, his long legs casually crossed.

His deep, calm gaze occasionally drifted to the rearview mirror, meeting Eliza's eyes in midair.

Whenever that happened, a faint, heart-stopping smile would touch his eyes.

But the most miserable of all was Zander Roth, wedged firmly in the middle.

Usually treated like royalty wherever he went, the arrogant Mr. Roth now looked like a bullied punching bag squeezed between two men with overpowering auras.

His hair was a disheveled mess plastered to his forehead, making him look thoroughly pathetic.
