Left for Dead Came Back for Everything novel Chapter 21

The intense sense of disparity, the fury of being ignored, and the unspeakable panic buried deep within his heart completely twisted Zander's rationality in this moment.

He refused to accept being tossed aside like trash by Eliza!

"Yvonne, I will marry you! The wedding will proceed as planned!"

His roar echoed through the empty hospital corridor, laced with a desperate madness.

Gwen, who was pushing the wheelchair, abruptly halted.

"Shit! That blind son of a bitch, I'm going to rip his mouth off today—"

Gwen's eyes went red with fury; she made a move to abandon the wheelchair and charge back to fight Zander.

"Gwen!"

Cold hands grabbed Gwen's sleeve.

Eliza didn't look back.

"Let's go."

Her voice was as light as a breeze that could blow away, yet it carried the dead silence of someone who had weathered a thousand storms.

"Don't dirty your hands. I don't want anything to do with them anymore."

When the love died, so did the pain.

Whoever Zander wanted to marry, whoever he wanted to feed soup to, whoever he wanted to save—from now on, it had absolutely nothing to do with Eliza.

Gwen looked down at her friend's impossibly calm, almost shattered profile, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes.

She swallowed her curses through gritted teeth, nodded fiercely, and pushed Eliza away, disappearing down the end of the corridor without looking back.

Inside the ward, it was dead silent.

Zander maintained his roaring posture, his chest heaving violently.

He stared at the empty doorway, desperately hoping Eliza would stop, turn around, and curse at him, or even slap him.

But there was nothing.
