Left for Dead Came Back for Everything novel Chapter 147

Vince smirked, flashing a row of nicotine-stained teeth.

"Alright, we can work with that."

He held up a hand, spreading five fingers right in front of Zander's face.

"Four hundred and seventy thousand. If you transfer the money on your phone right now, I'll waive the interest."

Vince cracked his knuckles, the joints popping loudly.

"Consider it a favor for the young Mr. Roth."

Sitting on the floor, Miriam actually chimed in to help her son.

She scrambled forward on her knees, wrapping her arms tightly around Zander's leg.

"Zander! You have to help us! Otherwise, they really will chop off his hands! He's the only son of the Shaw family! Can you really stand by and watch him be maimed?"

The entire registration lobby was watching the spectacle unfold.

People stopped queueing, patients stopped getting their meds, and even the clerks stretched their necks to watch from behind the windows.

Countless eyes were locked onto Zander, standing right in the middle of it all.

On his left, a sobbing, shrieking Miriam.

On his right, a trembling Miles.

Directly in front, the sneering loan shark.

Behind him—

Yvonne.

While Zander was still processing the shock, Yvonne ran out of patience.

She grabbed his arm, looking up, her voice squeezing through her teeth.

"Zander, don't pay it."

She leaned close, whispering so only he could hear:

"You gave him a thousand last time, and he immediately demanded three thousand more. If you give him four hundred and seventy thousand today, he'll be asking for millions tomorrow. People like this can never be satisfied."

She absolutely could not allow Zander's money to drain into the Shaw family.

Because every cent that leaked out was money meant for her future.
