Left for Dead Came Back for Everything novel Chapter 148

Miriam sprang up from the floor and slapped a hand over Miles's mouth.

"Stop talking nonsense!"

Miles struggled under his mother's grip, letting out a few muffled whimpers.

The debt collector watched the mother and son with cold eyes, raised an eyebrow, and turned back to Zander.

"Whatever. I don't care who signed for it. I'm getting my money today."

It was a dead end.

Zander's mind raced.

He thought of Eliza.

If he paid the four hundred and seventy thousand dollars right now—Miles wouldn't stop. He'd only get worse. He would treat Zander as his personal piggy bank, shaking it every time he lost at the tables.

But if he didn't pay—

These thugs would go after Eliza.

No matter what he chose, Eliza would be dragged down.

Zander clenched his fists.

His knuckles turned white.

Just then—

Someone shoved Miles hard.

It was the other debt collector—short but incredibly strong. He slammed a hand into Miles's back as the coward tried to sneak away.

"Stop hiding, you little prick!"

The shove sent Miles stumbling forward wildly.

His shoulder slammed violently into Yvonne.

Yvonne pitched sideways.

Her arms flew out instinctively—

And then—

"Ahhh!"

A piercing scream tore from her throat.

She clutched her stomach desperately, her body going limp as she collapsed back into the wheelchair.

"My stomach... it hurts so much..."

Her face instantly drained of all color, turning deathly pale.

Zander's heart lurched. He immediately rushed over, crouching down to grab her shoulders.
