I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 20

By the time Quentin walked out of the gym, drenched in sweat, it was already past eleven.

In the living room, Bonnie had already finished getting ready.

Quentin paused, his gaze landing on her, a subtle tremor passing through the depths of his dark eyes.

She was wearing a dusty blue French satin gown. Her dark hair was loosely swept up, with a few stray strands grazing her slender, pale neck.

She already had a naturally fair, soft, round face and large, bright eyes. With her light makeup, she looked like a quietly blooming gardenia—elegant and gentle.

Quentin had seen countless flashy, glamorous women abroad, but not a single one possessed this kind of beauty, sitting so quietly yet making it impossible to look away.

Her beauty wasn't aggressive; it was like a clear spring, pure enough to bring peace to the mind.

Quentin quickly masked his emotions, withdrawing his gaze as he spoke in a slightly hoarse voice. "Go ahead in."

He called the stylist and headed into the master bedroom.

Half an hour later, the master bedroom door opened again.

Bonnie turned her head, her breath catching slightly in her throat.

Quentin had changed into a masterfully tailored white suit. There were no superfluous accessories, yet it perfectly highlighted his imposing height and aloof, aristocratic aura.

His dark eyes were like an ancient well—deep and entirely still. A single glance was enough to make someone's heart race.

Catching her slightly dazed stare, Quentin spoke calmly. "Let's go."

Bonnie finally snapped out of it, the tips of her ears turning pink.

The car sped smoothly down the road, eventually turning into a sprawling private estate nestled against the mountains and a river.

It was the weekend, and most of the Vance family had already arrived.

The car rolled to a stop in front of a vintage mansion. The manicured lawn outside was already packed with impeccably dressed men and women.
