Gillian Jordan was used to the man's cold attitude.
She didn't care what documents he had just thrown away; perhaps they were useless company files.
Perhaps angered by his demeanor, Gillian smiled at him. "So, only you're allowed to cheat in this marriage?"
She watched the man's gaze darken, the aura radiating from him turning freezing cold, his eyes practically burning with fury.
It made sense. For a man like York Foster to be cuckolded by his own wife, anger was a natural response.
"We aren't divorced yet, and you're already this desperate?" York stared icily at the two men's jackets resting on the sofa, as if they were thorns in his side. "Cut ties with him, and you can remain Mrs. Foster."
Gillian felt as though she had just heard a hilarious joke. The title of Mrs. Foster was particularly ironic.
She had never truly possessed that title, never been acknowledged as such. Instead, the unmarried woman outside was happily parading around with his affection.
Now, she didn't care anymore. Along with York, she didn't care about any of it.
"When have you ever acknowledged me as Mrs. Foster?" Gillian looked calmly at his face. "York, if you don't divorce me, what are you going to do about your little sweetheart and the baby in her belly? How can you marry her without a divorce? Do you honestly expect me to wait on her hand and foot after she gives birth?"
"If you can't handle the thought of me wearing another man's jacket, then hurry up and sign the divorce papers."
With that, Gillian turned to grab the divorce agreement the lawyer had delivered today.
The moment she turned, the man grabbed her wrist. His dark eyes were cold and heavy, his words gritted out through his teeth. "You want to divorce me for him. I won't agree to it."
"Are you out of your mind?" Gillian looked at him coldly. "Let go."
In the struggle, her prenatal checkup slip fell out of her pocket.
The man frowned slightly and prepared to bend down. Gillian's heart pounded wildly. She snatched it up before he could, folding it quickly and shoving it back into her pocket.
"What was that?" York stared at her panicked face. "A fellowship application Miles Stanton gave you?"
"Mr. Foster, we are getting a divorce." Gillian didn't even glance at him. "You have no right to interfere in my business."
His face was completely stoic.
