Chapter 315
Third Person’s POV
In the bar, Wilmot was drinking with Easton, Xavier Wilson, and the others.
The lights were dazzling, and the music pounded through the room.
Wilmot’s life was far livelier than Trista’s.
Several girls hovered nearby, eager to catch his attention, but the wild, dangerous aura he gave off kept them from getting too close. He ignored them completely.
Easton lounged lazily on the sofa, his gaze fixed on Wilmot. “I heard Trista’s going to break the mating bond with you.”
Wilmot picked up the cigarette and lighter from the table and lit it.
Smoke curled from his lips as he flicked away the ash and laughed. “News travels fast. Was it Elizabeth wire sent you to find out. again?”
Easton advised, “You can fool around all you want, but you should sweet-talk her once in a while. You know, keep that wolf of hers from going off the rails.”
“Sweet-talk her?” Wilmot felt amused at his words.
He took another drag, exhaling a plume of smoke that seemed to carry the same mocking edge as his laughter.
Sweet-talking Trista? Not a chance, not in this lifetime.
When he finally stopped laughing, his phone on the table lit up.
He picked it up and saw one message from Elizabeth: “Will, just wanted to let you know about the mating-bond records. Trista already has it.”
Along with the message was a photo of the document in Trista’s hand.
Wilmot was slightly surprised.
Was Trista really going through with it? Had she actually gotten the document?
He zoomed in on the photo, trying to see if it was real. He was so focused on it that he didn’t notice his cigarette burning his finger until the sharp pain snapped him back to reality. He jerked and tossed the cigarette away.
At that moment, Camilla’s call came in.
Wilmot swiped to answer, and her voice immediately came through. “Will, where are you staying tonight? Can you come home for a couple of days? You keep leaving Trista alone at the villa. Do you really think that’s okay?”
Wilmot frowned. “You guys really are under her spell, huh? Fine, I get it.”
Harley liked her, Elizabeth liked her. Even his parents had taken her side.
How had Trista managed to win them all over?
After ending the call, Wilmot rose and picked up his suit jacket. His expression remained impassive as he said to Easton and Xavier, “Something came up. I have to go.”
Easton sat up a little straighter, raising an eyebrow. “You barely drank, and you’re leaving already?”
Wilmot wasn’t in the mood to answer. With his back to them, he waved a hand dismissively and walked away

He drove away from the bar, the driver’s side window Iralfway open. His right hand gripped the steering wheel while his left rested on the window, a cigarette dangling between his fingers. The car stereo played an old folk song.
He still couldn’t figure it out How had someone as utterly ordinary as Trista managed to win over everyone in the Bloodmoon
Pack?
Back then… he must have been out of his mind. That was the only reason he’d agreed to the mating bond with her.
He took a long drag from his cigarette and exhaled slowly.
There were hardly any cars on the road. He flicked the cigarette out the window and pressed down on the gas, speeding up.
In the villa’s bedroom, Trista had just grabbed some shower gel and skincare products from the bathroom. Her arms full, she was about to open the bedroom door when someone suddenly pushed it open from the other side.
Trista looked up and froze.
Wilmot!
Why was he back?
In the three years since they were bonded, Wilmot had barely come home. She could count the number of times on one hand.
Seeing him standing there so suddenly, Trista was genuinely shocked. As the alpha of the Bloodmoon Pack, Wilmot possessed an overwhelming, almost feral dominance. He didn’t have to say a word. His mere presence was enough to make the air feel
heavy and suffocating.
Stunned, she asked, “Why did you come back?”
She quickly added, “I’m not saying you shouldn’t. This is your home, of course you can come back.”
Then she said, “I haven’t used the bathroom here in forever, and I haven’t slept in that bed in ages. Jasmine and the other Omegas clean every day and disinfect everything.”
She said that because something had come back to her.
That time, Wilmot had also been wearing a black suit. She had reached out and touched his sleeve, only for him to throw the suit
away afterward in disgust.
Since then, unless absolutely necessary, she’d avoided touching Wilmot or any of his things. She was even careful not to leave her scent on anything that belonged to him.
If Wilmot intended to stay at the villa tonight and thought she’d slept in the master bedroom, he’d be angry.
In fact, she’d stopped sleeping there not long after they became mates and had stayed in the guest room next door ever since.
Wilmot listened to her, took off his jacket, and casually tossed it onto the sofa.
