Third Person’s POV

Trista held Seraphina’s hand and said, “I know you signed up too. I didn’t try to stop you, and when Garfield and Thomasina found out, they didn’t stop you either. So why don’t we go together and look out for each other along the way?”

In the end, Seraphina decided not to try to talk her out of it again.

She understood Trista, just as Trista understood her.

They had similar personalities. Though they seemed gentle and easy to reason with, they both had the stubbornness and resilience unique to werewolves deep down.

Once they made up their minds, no one could change them.

On the day they left for Ukraine, they quietly headed to the airport without saying goodbye to anyone.

But just as they were passing through security, a sharp screech of brakes suddenly came from outside

the terminal.

Everyone turned toward the sound.

Outside the airport entrance, a tall, broad-shouldered figure rushed inside.

His eyes were bloodshot, and the urgency and restraint unique to an Alpha warred in his gaze as he locked onto Seraphina and strode toward her.

When Seraphina saw Mortimer, she was startled at first. Then her brows knitted together.

When he finally stood in front of her, he opened his mouth several times, his throat moving as if he wanted to say something, but no words came out.

In the end, only one hoarse sentence escaped his lips.

“When you get there… stay safe.”

Seraphina nodded calmly. “I will.”

Mortimer didn’t try to stop her. After suppressing the black wolf within him, which was desperately urging him to take his mate back, he slowly released her hand after giving his warning.

“Goodbye.”

Even after Seraphina passed through security, Mortimer remained standing there, lost and motionless for a long time.

Beta Tade, who had hurried after him from outside the airport, saw him standing there in a daze. He quickly walked over and looked around, but Seraphina was nowhere to be seen.

*Alpha, Luna Seraphina… is gone?”

Mortimer nodded, his eyes red and his jaw tightly clenched as he fought to keep his emotions under

control.

“You… didn’t force her to stay?”

Mortimer didn’t answer.

He knew better than anyone that forcing her to stay would never work.

After a long silence, his strained voice finally came out. “Send a few people to Ukraine. Have them protect her in secret.”

Beta Tade wanted to tell him that the medical teams participating in the international rescue effort would be stationed and protected by UN peacekeeping forces and civilian protection zones.

But he knew Alpha Mortimer would never feel at ease, so he swallowed his words and immediately

agreed.

“I’ll have George select several elite wolf guards to stay with Seraphina the entire time.”

“Good,” Mortimer answered quietly, then turned and walked toward the airport exit. “Keep her safe, but don’t interfere with her work.”

“Understood.”

When the plane landed at the airport in Ukraine, the overwhelming sense of desolation and oppression was almost suffocating.

It felt as though the air itself carried the cries and despair of civilians caught in the war.

The convoy sent to pick them up carefully avoided the conflict zones and headed toward the medical relief area.

As they got closer, the stench of blood and decay grew stronger.

The makeshift tents along the roadside were crude and fragile, as if they could collapse at any moment under artillery fire or harsh weather.

Even with constant deliveries of international medical supplies, it was still nowhere near enough for a disaster of this scale.

After Seraphina and the others arrived, they had no time to rest. They immediately threw themselves into the intense rescue work.

During this time, supplies and medical assistance from around the world continued arriving in Ukraine every day.

In addition, advanced protective equipment designed to ensure the safety of medical workers was delivered to the civilian protection zone.

Most of the high-quality equipment came from the Craig Group.

And the staff at the protection zone were deeply grateful when they received the supplies.

That day, Seraphina was treating several patients in a temporary medical tent as usual when she suddenly heard a familiar voice outside giving instructions in fluent English.
