Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1593

Money truly didn't matter right now.

"Thank you for your hard work."

Juniper checked the time, her voice steady. "It's about time. Let's begin the surgery."

"Understood."

The doctors exchanged glances, immediately dispersing to prep the operating room in an orderly fashion.

"Is it really dangerous?" Sensing the shift in the atmosphere, Warren pressed her. "Tell me the truth. I can handle it."

"Yes."

Juniper had no intention of hiding it from him. She enunciated every word clearly. "Her condition isn't like a typical pregnancy. The risk of a massive hemorrhage is extremely high."

"What you need to do now is ensure there's an abundant blood supply ready, and then—"

Juniper swallowed hard, her voice turning gravelly. "Find a place to sit and stay out of my way."

She had far more critical things to handle next.

"...Alright."

Warren fell silent for a long time, forcing himself to calm down before slowly squeezing out a single word.

Celine needed him right now. He couldn't afford to fall apart.

Warren waited quietly outside the operating room doors.

Before the surgery officially began, Juniper stepped out to meet the family members who had just arrived.

Theia was so terrified she could barely stand, her hands shaking violently as she gripped Juniper's arm.

"No matter what happens, you all need to stay calm."

"We will."

Theia nodded vigorously, staring at Juniper with red-rimmed eyes. "We'll wait quietly. We won't get in the way."

"Good."

Juniper looked at Shanley. Before she could even speak, the man nodded.

The unspoken message: He would handle everything out here.

He understood her perfectly.

With her instructions given.

Juniper changed into sterile scrubs and entered the delivery room.

"I'm not entirely sure about the situation inside the operating room." The nurse was startled by his fierce expression and hastily offered, "Sir, would you like to hold the baby?"

"I'll take him." Theia stepped up immediately, taking the little one into her arms, her eyes brimming with tears.

This was the child her daughter had risked her life to bring into the world.

"He's so chubby." Luella leaned in, staring at the baby in pure delight. "So cute."

The little guy moved his mouth and let out a wail.

"He totally understands us," Luella laughed.

"Of course." Jimmie held her hand, shaking his head with an affectionate sigh. "He's small, not stupid."

"Auntie is just complimenting you, don't cry," Luella gently touched his tiny hand, feeling a bit sheepish.

Arthur stopped crying, but his lip jutted out in a pout, looking thoroughly wronged.

"It's pretty quiet in there. Celine must be fine," Coralie murmured softly.

"Yes, she's fine," the others chimed in.

But the moment the words left their lips, a loud crash erupted from inside the operating room.

A doctor's panicked voice pierced the air: "Massive hemorrhage! Get Ms. Payne, now!"
