Ebony Fox was still groggy when she suddenly felt someone touching her face.

She grabbed the person's wrist and slowly opened her eyes.

"I'm heading to the airport now." Kurt leaned over the bed, his hands resting on either side of her as he gazed down.

"Now?"

Ebony Fox checked the time. It was five in the morning.

"Yeah."

Kurt nodded and said softly, "I got a flight change notification last night and didn't have time to tell you."

Ebony Fox gazed back at him, suddenly at a loss for words.

She had originally planned to see him off at the airport.

"I already instructed Polly to make sure you eat on time. If you lose even a single pound, she'll have to deal with me." Kurt leaned down and kissed her forehead.

"Did Polly rob you in a past life?" Ebony Fox said, quite speechless.

"No." Kurt smiled and shook his head. "But I've definitely bribed her plenty in this one."

Just to have her keep an eye on Ebony Fox, he had gifted her another air purifier.

Polly had repeatedly declined, saying she couldn't accept it.

In reality, as she hugged the purifier, her smile was practically stretching from ear to ear.

Kurt added, "I made breakfast and put it in the fridge. When you get up, just warm it up in the microwave."

Ebony Fox pursed her lips. "If you're leaving at five, how early did you have to get up to make breakfast?"

"I couldn't sleep anyway." Kurt's lips curved into a smile. "I also made some ravioli. Whenever you want some, just steam them."

"If you don't know how, ask Polly for help. She'll be more than happy to."

Ebony Fox stared at him, feeling a lump form in her throat, unable to make a sound.

"It's about time. I have to go." Kurt ruffled Ebony Fox's hair. "Go back to sleep. I'll bring you a present when I get back."

The room was terrifyingly quiet, so still that she could hear the rustling of the wind outside the window.
