Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1733

The camera even zoomed in for a massive close-up of the dead man's face.

"Ah—"

"Ah—"

"Ah—————"

The last scream came from Kurt, exceptionally loud and piercing.

As he yelled, he dove right into Ebony Fox's arms.

"Ahhh, that's horrifying!" Kurt wrapped his arms around Ebony Fox's neck, shouting until his voice nearly cracked.

Ebony Fox froze on the spot, letting him cling to her while enduring the weird looks from the surrounding audience.

"Sorry to disturb everyone," Ebony Fox said with an awkward smile, covering Kurt's mouth. "My boyfriend is a bit timid."

Only then did the others turn back to continue watching the movie.

After a wave of high-intensity scenes, the plot leveled out again.

"Hey."

Ebony Fox patted the back of Kurt's head, giving him a half-smile. "Weren't you supposed to be protecting me?"

It was genuinely the first time she'd seen a grown man get this terrified over a horror movie.

Calming down, Kurt curled his lip and admitted honestly, "I didn't expect to be scared of ghost movies either."

Ebony Fox stared at him for a few seconds, unable to stop the corners of her mouth from twitching upward.

What a coward.

"Let's go." Ebony Fox stood up and grabbed his hand.

Kurt looked confused. "We're not watching the rest?"

Ebony Fox shook her head. "I normally treat these kinds of movies like children's cartoons anyway."

"I only stuck around this long because I thought you were interested."

Kurt felt a dual assault on his intelligence and his pride.

"Let's go."

Ebony Fox tugged at him, lowering her voice. "I think the upcoming scenes are even scarier..."

"Then let's go."

Kurt immediately stood up, quickly matching her pace, his tone filled with urgency. "Hurry, hurry, the music is changing again."

The two left the movie theater.
