Three o'clock in the morning.
The wide, pristine avenues were completely devoid of traffic, the streetlights casting shifting shadows along the road.
The Schwartz family's villa was located in the suburbs.
By motorcycle, the ride would take well over fifty minutes.
Sitting on the back seat, Kurt watched the girl driving through the rearview mirror.
Ebony was wearing a black helmet with the visor flipped up, revealing a pair of dark, bright eyes that practically radiated an intimidating aura.
She stared straight ahead, her gaze filled with unyielding determination.
Looking further down—
Ebony was dressed casually today. She wore a simple white button-down shirt paired with black cargo pants, the hem of her shirt effortlessly tucked into her waistband.
On her feet were a pair of flat combat boots. Her entire vibe was rugged yet breathtakingly gorgeous.
Thinking back to the way she dominated the boxing ring, Kurt couldn't help but marvel: *Beautiful.*
"Keep staring and see if I don't throw you off this bike." Without even looking away from the road, Ebony had acutely sensed someone watching her.
Her intelligence and hyper-vigilance were genuinely terrifying.
Her emotional intelligence, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired.
It had been so long, and she still hadn't realized he had feelings for her.
"Oh."
To avoid actually being thrown off the moving vehicle, Kurt pulled his gaze away and sat obediently.
An unknown amount of time passed.
The motorcycle finally came to a halt. Ebony planted her long legs on the ground and tilted her chin toward him. "Get off."
"Oh."
Kurt was still hopelessly lost in his admiration of Ebony's striking looks.
Hearing those freezing, spine-chilling words shocked him back to reality.
He quickly scrambled off the bike.
Ebony didn't ride off immediately. Instead, she stared right at him, her gaze unwavering.
"What's wrong?"
Kurt smirked, slipping back into his unserious tone. "Could it be that you..."
*Couldn't bear to leave him and wanted to stare at him a little longer?*
"Could it be what?"
Ebony's expression turned icy as she snapped impatiently, "Don't just stand there, give me my helmet back!"
"How about you call me Mel?" Melvin's Adam's apple bobbed, his voice turning husky. "Growing up, anyone close to me called me Mel."
"Mel?"
Janet whispered the name earnestly, her heartbeat spiraling out of control.
It sounded so intimate.
"Yeah."
Hearing her softly call his name made Melvin feel incredibly content, his tone growing even gentler. "I'm waiting downstairs. I'll drive you to school."
"Ah?"
Janet instantly leaped out of bed and pulled back the curtains to look down.
Sure enough, a black Hummer was parked right below her apartment building.
It was Melvin's.
He was standing outside the car at that very moment, looking up.
The morning sun hit his face at an angle, highlighting his sharp, chiseled features. He was bathed in a golden glow, looking blindingly handsome.
From this height, Melvin couldn't see her, but she could clearly see him.
Janet's lips curled into a smile, a warm, sweet feeling washing over her heart.
