DAVIEN

Truly, Jarrett’s crimes weren’t severe enough to get him a death sentence, and as much as that killed me to admit-because I wanted him dead-I had to. After all, he didn’t commit any crime, aside from the part where he contacted the banished witches.
All he did was plot and scheme. While that could get him punished, it wouldn’t get him killed.
My joy knew no bounds when Jarrett announced with his own mouth, “I would rather die than become their prisoner!” However, it was short-lived when Alpha King Raiden decided to ignore him and pass a fair judgment.
“All Alphas and Lunas that were involved in this scheme are hereby out of office with immediate effect. Their authorities have been stripped, and they will be transported to the Royal prison back in Dark Moon Pack.”
The King continued, his voice loud and commanding, “For the Betas and Gammas who went behind their Alphas and Lunas’ backs to join hands with Jarrett, you will be transported to the Royal Prison to serve your time, while your Alphas and Lunas remain in power.”
“For the Alphas and Lunas who have grown children who can take over the control of their packs-one who is innocent and unaware of the plot—such a child can take over as the new Alpha, regardless of gender.”
The crowd was pleased with the judgment because no innocent child would be punished for the crimes of their parents. “However, for children who were involved in the plot, they will be stripped of every authority they once possessed and will be punished together with their parents. We have confirmed two such children-Damien and Cole-but the remaining Alpha- born kids will have to pass the truth test that will be carried out here in this arena by your Queen.”
Damien and Cole thrashed around as the judgment was passed, but the crowd cheered the King on, supporting him without hesitation.
King Raiden gave them more reason to feel like shit when he announced, “For Black Fur Pack, it has been decided that Damien, my son-in-law, will become the new Alpha of Black Fur Pack, and my daughter, Princess Katie Anne, will become your Luna. This is the reward they get for helping us discover Jarrett’s schemes, but if any of you are against it, please step forward and present your reasons.”
Oh, how he crashed out.
Although Jarrett still didn’t get a reaction out of the people of Black Fur, I just couldn’t stand still and let him plant doubtful seeds into their minds-seeds that were sure to grow into feelings that may or may not create problems for Katie and me in the future.
“How about we test that theory, huh?” I spat before Katie or her parents could stop me. A part of me knew it was my burning desire to kill Jarrett that was pushing me, but still I said, “How about we duel to prove my worth?”
“There will be no duel-” Queen Aurelia began.
But before she could finish or order men to keep Jarrett and me apart, we were already at each other’s throats.
My wolf chirped happily, “Finally, his blood will flow.”
