Chasing His Betrayed Luna novel Chapter 124

DAVIEN

~<>~

It’s been a month since Katie and I were made Alpha and Luna of Black Fur Pack. It’s been a month since I killed Jarrett and freed my mind.

It’s been a month since Elora revealed the consciousness she carried within and made it known that she was the reincarnation of no one else but the late Elora Seer King—the last Queen the White Shade Pack had.

It’s also been a month of struggles for Katie, who was worried about what the future actually holds because she had come to believe that she hadn’t seen all there is to see in her vision. Katie has been under a lot of stress, especially since her family and Auntie Susanna had to return to Dark Moon Pack three weeks ago.

“This will make her happy,” Dolf said to me as I walked over to our bedroom, where Katie had been since she woke up this morning.

Even though the members of the pack were urging us to hold an official ceremony for our appointment and also a mating ceremony because Katie and I were still unmarked, I couldn’t focus on pack affairs until my mate was less anxious.

“And it will make the pack mad,” I retorted as I could envision the reaction of my pack members when they found out about what I was about to do.

“They will be fine,” Dolf said without concern.

Sighing deeply, I walked into the room of the same guest house that Katie and I had been staying in for the past month. I knew I had to build our own home soon, but that might also have to wait, along with choosing a beta and a gamma.

“Hey, Cat,” I breathed as I fell onto the bed, putting my arms around Katie instantly.

“You are back? So fast?” Katie asked, turning around to look at me and also hiding her worries.

“Yeah, I didn’t have much to do since I just had to pack into one of the cars Jarrett left behind,” I answered, kissing her cheek softly.

Katie’s brow furrowed. “You had to pack? What are you packing for?”

Within an hour, we were ready to begin the journey. Katie said her goodbyes to Jade and Nova, while I had to convince Garrick to stay back instead of accepting his offer to drive Katie and me to the Dark Moon Pack.

Afterwards, Katie and I got into the car and started the long drive to Dark Moon Pack. The drive was more intimate than the last one we had because it was just us in the car. Intimate enough for me to wish the drive didn’t end.

“We are here!” However, when Katie squealed as we approached the Dark Moon Pack borders, I knew this was worth it.

The excitement was over the roof until we arrived at the palace and realized that everyone was rushing toward the White Wolves' settlement because Mia Lu had become unstable.

“Perfect timing?” Dolf chimed within me.

I agreed with him because if this was Mia Lu’s time to go, then Katie wouldn’t have to miss it, but it was also terrible timing because my mate’s excitement waned, replaced by dread as we all moved to the White Wolves settlement.
