Chasing His Betrayed Luna novel Chapter 123

Princess Katie Anne

~<>~

“At first, I saw a beautiful place. The most beautiful place I have ever seen, with a clear, blue sky and clear water, and a landscape that just takes my breath away.”

I stuttered softly, feeling the way my mate’s heart raced since my back was pressed to his chest. His heart was racing because mine was doing the same. I was restless because I knew better than anyone that the sweet story was about to change.

“The place seems oddly familiar to me, even though I have never been to that place. I see myself walking, running, and exploring the place, even though it felt like home, but while doing that, everything suddenly changes.”

I looked into my mom’s face because I knew she was just as anxious as I was.

“The sky darkens, the water turns crimson, and the once-beautiful landscape transforms into a harsh, unforgiving desert. Until today, my vision had ended here, where everything descended into a nightmare. But today, I saw more, and it was horrifying, Mom,” I whispered, my throat suddenly dry as I swallowed hard to ease the lump in my throat.

“Don’t be scared, Katie. The fact that you see the vision means we can work around it. Nothing bad has to happen,” my mom uttered softly, but we all knew she wasn’t telling the truth.

Although she managed to find a way around the vision that predicted the last war, she couldn’t prevent most of the damage from happening, and I doubted she would be able to stop the banished witches from returning, just like I saw before I regained consciousness.

“You are telling me that we can stop the witches from coming back and destroying the beautiful land that felt like home, Mom, because that will happen soon,” I stated while holding my mom’s gaze.

For a split second, I saw the wall she had put up falling, but she was quick to catch herself, masking her emotions perfectly. “The banished witches are coming back?”

“From what I saw, yes, they are coming. They are coming with full force, Mom, and even though I can’t interpret correctly, I believe they are coming to destroy the peaceful realm we have worked tirelessly to create.”

While I wasn’t a full part of the development that had spread across the realm, I was entitled to claim some of the praise because I sacrificed my childhood for this to happen.

“And yesterday, Elora also said something about the witches returning, but from what she said, it seemed like we need the witches to return,” my mate broke in behind me, breaking the heated staring contest between me and my mom.

“She did?” Auntie Susanna gasped.

“Yes, she was with me and Katie when she said that,” Davien confirmed, and I nodded as well.

My mom sighed. “That girl. I try and try to keep her away from all of this, but somehow she always gets involved. How do I protect her?”

“You can’t always protect me or keep me away, Mama,” Elora’s voice echoed through the bathroom before she stepped in with my dad behind her. “It’s my destiny.”

“Elora?” my mom breathed fearfully, and maybe with a hint of doubt that I didn’t notice instantly.

“Yes, Aurelia. It’s still me,” Elora answered strangely, and that was when I caught on to the changes that my mom had noticed in my supposed little sister.

Elora’s hair was glowing subtly, and her eyes reflected a bright light that was nowhere around us. She parted her lips and announced, “I’m Elora Seer King, and I am back to restore the legacy of the white wolves. Katie’s vision is my destiny. I’m the girl in her vision… well, I will become that girl in fifteen years, and the witches will return on the first full blue moon after I turn twenty.”

Saying we were all stunned would be an understatement because, aside from surprise, fear, and confusion, these feelings were looming within us.

“Katie and I will have to work hand in hand when the time comes, which is why we have to train together and not be away from each other for a long period,” Elora continued, speaking like she was an ancient woman and not just my five-year-old sister. “I’m Elora Seer King, and I’m back to restore balance to the realm.”

Before I could point out that Elora wasn’t calling herself a Flockhart like everyone in the family does, my little sister crashed, slumping to the floor as soon as the bright, glowing light faded.

My dad was quick to pull Elora’s body into his arms, but my mom was still in shock as she announced, “I gave birth to my mother?”

And that just didn’t make sense to me at the time, but when it did, I realized that there was so much I needed to learn because Elora just happened to be the reincarnation of our powerful grandma that we never got to meet.

What Elora was born with, I had to learn and perfect before she turned twenty… and thankfully, I had enough time to prepare. Or so I thought, until time suddenly started slipping past us, each second feeling heavier than the last.
