"Stop the car! Turn around immediately, or you will be arrested for obstructing justice!"
The vehicle slowly rolled to a stop. Wesley stepped out first, walked around the front, and opened the rear door. Alaric stepped out.
The boy looked elegant and composed, his features devastatingly handsome, but his cold, detached gaze created a stark contrast with the bouquet of pink roses resting in his arms.
"Wesley."
Wesley nodded and gave the young officer a gesture that clearly meant 'get lost.'
Stormhollow was a playground for the elite, and Alaric's aura was overwhelming. Chief Corbett didn't dare offend him right off the bat. As he hesitated on how to ask him to leave, a subordinate rushed up, his face pale as he whispered, "Chief, that's the heir of the Ravenshire family."
Chief Corbett's eye twitched. He turned slightly. "Are you sure?"
"Positive."
Cursing his luck, Chief Corbett turned back around, all his previous arrogance evaporating. He offered a fawning smile. "Mr. Ravenshire, it's dangerous ahead. Someone of your status shouldn't take such risks."
Alaric glanced at him. "Tiger, from Merriton City?"
Chief Corbett froze.
Tiger was his old street name. After laundering his background, he had gone exclusively by Aidan Corbett, and his official record stated he was born and raised in Stormhollow.
This teenager had terrified him to the bone with just four words.
Why were the Ravenshires here?!
Zeke also realized something was terribly wrong and began slowly backing into the crowd.
Honk—
Right at that moment, five black sedans drove onto the narrow road in quick succession, completely blocking the entrance to the shantytown.
"Who is it this time?"
"They look serious. Got to be some major VIPs!"
Before the crowd could react, the doors of all five sedans opened simultaneously, and four hulking men in sharp suits stepped out of each vehicle.
Theron walked around the front of the lead car, opened the door, and bowed respectfully. "Grandfather."
A hand adorned with a heavy agarwood rosary slowly reached out, gently patting Theron's arm. Theron stepped back, and the man inside ducked his head to step out.
Alaric's expression shifted slightly. After a brief hesitation, he walked forward and gave a polite nod. "Mr. Blackthorne."
