Moira glanced at the clock, her expression growing concerned. It was getting incredibly late. Why wasn't Cyril back yet? Just as she reached for her phone to call him, the sound of the front door unlocking echoed through the entryway.
Before Moira could even react, a bright pink blur shot past her and yanked the door wide open.
"What took you so long?!" Vivienne demanded, her tone dripping with dramatic impatience. "If you took another minute, I would have fallen asleep standing up!"
Cyril blinked, utterly stunned. The girl standing before him was swallowed whole by a massive, fuzzy pink pig onesie. It zipped all the way up to her chin, leaving nothing but her flushed face exposed.
Recovering from his shock, his gaze dropped to the floor, realizing she was even wearing matching toe socks.
"Are you cold?" he asked smoothly.
Vivienne's face flushed as red as a boiled lobster. "Yes! Freezing!"
Cyril stepped inside, handing his briefcase to Moira.
Moira looked at the ridiculous outfit, swallowed a smile, and quickly handed him a warm towel. "Have you eaten, sir?"
"Yes," Cyril murmured, shrugging off his damp coat. "Ms. Nash, please move the printer to the living room. And turn the heat up while you're at it."
Turn it up more?!
Moira shot Vivienne a sympathetic look and silently bumped the thermostat up another five degrees.
Vivienne simply stared in silence.
Cyril gestured toward the massive sofa in the center of the living room, his tone coaxing. "The meeting ran long tonight. I have everything ready. Go sit down for a minute, I'm going to grab a quick shower. I'll be right out."
Vivienne was a sucker for a soft approach. She gave a stiff nod. "Well, hurry up then!"
In the end, she had lost to her own conscience. If seduction was off the table, she absolutely had to get her hands on Balthazar's files tonight.
"I will." Cyril turned and walked into the master suite.
Moira discreetly glanced at Vivienne, then headed into the kitchen. A few minutes later, she returned with a bowl of freshly washed strawberries and placed it on the coffee table.
