Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 439

Benedict froze for a second. "Why are you suddenly asking about that?"

He had never told Aurelia anything about the Shadow Chamber because he was terrified it would scare her.

Aurelia took off her glasses. Her soft, grey-tinted eyes sparkled with a faint smile. "Grandpa apologized to me."

Grandpa? Apologized?

Benedict was genuinely shocked.

"Grandpa said he felt incredibly guilty for not noticing my condition sooner, but he also said he was proud of me for being brave and conquering my fears."

Aurelia's eyes rimmed with red. She was practically vibrating with excitement and emotion. "He also said brave kids deserve a reward. He told me I could ask him for anything."

A torrent of mixed emotions rushed through Benedict's chest. He gently stroked his daughter's forehead. "Is that so? And what did my sweet girl ask Grandpa for?"

Aurelia looked up, meeting his eyes directly. "I asked for the Shadow Chamber."

"The... the Shadow Chamber?" Benedict's eyes widened in horror. For a second, he thought he was hallucinating. "Aurelia... did Grandpa agree?"

Aurelia shook her head.

Benedict instantly let out a massive sigh of relief.

Aurelia's expression turned incredibly sly. "But he didn't refuse, either."

Benedict's brows snapped together again.

"Grandpa said the Shadow Chamber carries immense responsibility, so he can't just hand it over. But if I insist, he'll give me a fair shot to compete for it. If I can prove my skills and beat Isaiah or Isaac, then once you retire, Dad, the Shadow Chamber will answer to me."

Benedict was utterly speechless. "How exactly did you manage to convince your grandfather?"

Aurelia's eyes blazed with starlight.

"I told Grandpa that today was the happiest day of my life. My dad descended from the sky like a glorious hero. He looked exactly like a legendary general, commanding the battlefield with absolute authority. I finally saw what a true hero looks like, and now I want to be one, too. I want to wield the sharpest sword in this world to protect my general, who will one day grow old."

"Dad, I don't want to be a princess anymore. I want to be the knight who slays the dragon."

Three years after that fateful banquet, she had finally delivered her delayed answer.

With her sword drawn, she would forever chase freedom and glory.
