Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 419

Lara still refused to admit she had done anything wrong. Her only regret was talking back to Caspian. As she grew older, she finally realized just how terrifyingly powerful the Ravenshire name was in high society.

"Mom, is Grandpa really going to ban us from the Obsidian Estate forever?"

Evelyn felt a knot of anxiety but forced a comforting smile. "Of course not. With Uncle Dorian and Uncle Leander smoothing things over, there will eventually be a breakthrough."

Lara's face twisted with pure hatred. "It's all that little bitch's fault! If it weren't for her, Grandpa never would have treated us like this."

In truth, she had seen Vivienne in the classroom earlier, but she absolutely refused to acknowledge her presence in public.

"Once I marry Preston, I'm going to destroy her!"

Evelyn had originally wanted to tell Lara to give up on her vendetta. For the past three years, even Dorian and Leander had kept their distance from that little lunatic. There was no point in risking their own futures over a nobody.

But hearing the sheer lovesick devotion in Lara's voice, Evelyn was distracted. She tested the waters. "Lara, are things moving forward with Preston?"

At the mention of his name, the viciousness melted from Lara's face, replaced by a deep blush. "Yes. We're officially dating."

"Really?!" Evelyn gasped in delight. Since being iced out by the Ravenshires, Evelyn knew her husband's family was deeply dissatisfied with her. That was why she had been so desperate to secure an alliance with the Everharts.

Not only would it compensate for losing the Ravenshire's backing, but Preston was universally recognized as the absolute elite among the new generation. Evelyn couldn't be happier.

Lara nodded eagerly. "It's true."

Evelyn was ecstatic. Pulling strings to get Lara filming on the Crestline campus was the best move she ever made.

"When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me?"

At the time, she hadn't thought about the consequences. She just assumed that once they slept together, Preston would be bound to her forever. But now, it felt like the exact opposite. Her obsession with him was spiraling out of control. The mere thought of him getting engaged to someone else made her want to claw her own skin off.

"Mom, what if Mrs. Everhart still chooses Aurelia? What do I do?"

The panic was suffocating her.

Evelyn gave a chilling, contemptuous laugh. "Don't worry. If it were anyone else, maybe. But if it's Aurelia, I have more than enough dirt to bury her."

Lara instantly thought of the way Preston had looked at Aurelia earlier that day. Her eyes flashed with desperate hope as she gripped her mother's hands tightly. "Mom, what kind of dirt?"

Evelyn paused, then lowered her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "..."
