30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 571

After two days without drinking water, Leonora stood under the shower, gulping down several mouthfuls of water until her stomach felt full. Just as she took another sip, Taylor pushed open the glass door and stepped in.

Seeing her glance his way, Taylor said, "I was worried you might slip, so I came to check on you."

Leonora's gaze drifted away as she turned her back to him. Taylor didn't leave; instead, he rolled up his sleeves, stepped under the shower, and quickly finished washing her up before dressing her.

She needed the help—on an empty stomach, her energy was depleting fast.

Once she was ready, she headed to the dining room, where Taylor had already arranged for food to be delivered. As Leonora entered, Taylor smoothly pulled out a chair for her, set the cutlery in front of her, and served her a bowl of soup.

Leonora hadn’t eaten in two days, so the dishes Taylor ordered were all very light. She ate in silence, noticing Taylor watching her, and couldn’t quite pin down her feelings.

He always did this, even though she was the one hurt, the one reprimanded. Yet, in the end, he seemed the innocent one.

After finishing the soup and a small portion of food, Leonora felt a little better—much better than she had during the day. But she was still tired and weak.

Seeing her put down her cutlery, Taylor felt a lump in his throat. He knew he had to take her back.

Sighing softly and seeing her stare straight at him, he reluctantly said, "Let's go, I'll take you back."

Taylor knew that if he didn't keep his word, she'd probably want to kill him.

The moment he offered, Leonora quickly stood up from her chair. Her eagerness filled Taylor with heartache.

Shortly after, they reached the underground parking lot. Taylor, as usual, protected her head as he opened the car door for her. Once the car started, Leonora finally sighed with relief, grateful that Taylor hadn’t lied to her.

Instead of driving her straight home, Taylor took a detour, as he sometimes did. When the car stopped at a traffic light, he turned to her and calmly said, "Nothing happened between Kitty and me. Please think it over calmly when you get home."

"If, after ten days, you still want to break up, then we can talk about it."

"And Leonora, I'm serious this time. I truly want to take you home to meet my parents."

Leonora remained silent, her head down, throughout Taylor's calm speech. Taylor was a big boss; his way of persuading people was practiced. No matter the issue, he always had his reasoning, always had his justifications.

So, she simply chose to say nothing. The more she spoke, the more leverage he had, and after a few exchanges, they would end up back at square one. They were incompatible from the start; there was no point in continuing.

Still silent, Taylor continued, "As for work, I'll have Blake talk to your manager. Whether you stay at the company, we can decide after you’ve had time to think."

Leonora listened but remained silent.

Seeing that he had said so much and she hadn’t responded at all, Taylor felt a bit frustrated. "Arielle, I’ve talked my mouth dry. At least give me some response."

Leonora nodded slightly. "Hmm."

"…" Taylor.

She was harsh, the harshest.

What Taylor didn’t realize was not that Leonora was harsh, but that he cared.

Feeling helpless, Taylor looked at the traffic light. "The light's green."
