30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 468

It seemed like if she said even one wrong word, she wouldn’t be going home tonight.

Leonora stared at Taylor for what felt like forever before letting out a soft “Hmm,” even though all she wanted to do was run away from him. Despite their recent moment of intimacy, she couldn’t shake the feeling.

Leonora had promised not to lie anymore, and that seemed to soften Taylor’s gaze. He leaned in and pecked her lips lightly, murmuring, “Good girl.”

She gave him a forced smile, feeling more like a plaything in his hands. She couldn’t resist him in any way.

As Taylor opened the door, Leonora walked out, her heart heavy, and Taylor immediately took her hand. It was as if they were a truly devoted couple.

After exiting the elevator, people passed by, but Taylor didn’t let go of her hand—he didn’t even try to hide it. It wasn’t until they got into the car, until he leaned over to buckle her seat belt, until he was so close without moving away, that Leonora finally snapped back to reality and looked at him.

Their eyes met, and Taylor, noticing Leonora’s distracted state, smiled and caressed her face. “Why the sudden gloom?”

Seeing his smile, Leonora looked into his eyes and said, “I got scared when you were like that just now.”

Taylor’s smile broadened, and he caressed her face more firmly. “Did I seem harsh to you just then?”

Leonora shook her head first, then added, “It was the way you pinched my face, and your gaze—it scared me.”

Having led a simple life, Leonora found Taylor to be the strangest person she had ever encountered, which explained her fear of his recent expression.

Hearing her admit her fear, Taylor chuckled. “You really are something. I haven’t even started, and you’re already scared. What if I actually got angry?”

Before Leonora could respond, Taylor continued to soothe her. “Alright, alright, my bad. I shouldn’t have pinched your face or looked at you that way. I apologize, and I won’t do it again.”

Considering Leonora was six years his junior, Taylor was relatively accommodating towards her.

After his apology, Leonora sighed softly, wanting to bring up the idea of breaking things off but feared to even mention it. She knew well that if she did, Taylor would likely lose his temper, and whether she could return home tonight would be in question. His current soothing behavior was because he knew there would be no future for them. He was just toying with her, as one would with a kitten or a puppy.

So, without further discussion on the matter, she gently pushed him back. “You should drive now.”

Taylor pinched her face. “Let me pamper you a bit more.”

With that, he pulled her closer and kissed her lips. His tender kiss made Leonora close her eyes. With one hand cradling her face and the other starting to unbutton her dress, Leonora caught his hand. “Taylor, not here, someone might see.”

Taylor dismissed her concern. “It’s late; who would be out?” Continuing, he kissed her more passionately.
