Estrella stared at the bracelet for a bit, deciding not to complicate things by returning it. She figured Chelsea would just come back to get it herself, making everything awkward. Plus, she wanted to avoid any potential run-ins with Kristin. So, she tucked the bracelet away and with a smile said, “Lily, I’ll keep the bracelet. Tell your mom thanks for me.”
Sandy, relieved, said, “Estrella, as long as you’re okay with it.”
They then chatted about work, and Estrella’s eyes lit up with excitement. When Isaac returned, she joined him for a game of chess. She playfully complained, “Isaac, how are you so smart? I’m a seasoned lawyer, and I still can’t beat you.”
Isaac looked up, grinned, and replied, “Estrella is smart. I’m like Estrella.”
No matter what, whenever someone complimented him, he always said he was like Estrella.
And then there was Peyton, who she was fond of. Peyton even looked a bit like Estrella in some ways.
After dinner at Sandalwood Oasis, Sandy mentioned she needed to head back to sort out some case files and bid everyone goodbye.
Seeing Sandy off, Autumn remarked, “That girl has a great personality. It’s nice she visits you often. I can see how much you light up talking about cases.”
Estrella, linking arms with Autumn, responded, “Absolutely, it’s pretty much my only hobby. Plus, staying home all day is so boring.” She joked about how her face had gotten rounder in just a month.
Autumn looked at her and said, “Once you’ve had little Isaac, why not get back to your law career? Let your dad and Jason handle the company.”
Autumn felt a twinge of guilt remembering how Estrella had given up her career to comfort her and Cole.
Fortunately, it wasn’t too late for Estrella to return to her passion for law.
“Yeah,” Estrella agreed with a smile, feeling content with her current life.
Around 9 p.m., after putting Isaac to bed, Jason came home from an evening engagement, later than usual.
Seeing Estrella still up and reading, Jason approached her with a smile, kissed her forehead, and said, “You haven’t gone to bed yet?”
Estrella looked up, “Just got our son to sleep.”
Jason, unbuttoning his shirt, said, “I’ll take a quick shower and then join you.”
After his shower, Estrella couldn’t help but admire his physique, which made Jason hurriedly tie his robe tighter, jokingly asking, “What are you thinking about?”
Estrella, never one to mince words, retorted, “Spending my days bored at home, how could I not take advantage of you?”
Their playful banter was one of the many reasons Jason adored Estrella.
Settling beside her, he teased, “So, tell me, what exactly were you thinking?”
Their flirtatious exchange was just a part of their daily fun, a spice of life that Jason cherished.
Later, Estrella mentioned, “Paloma stopped by this afternoon. I was napping, but mom welcomed her. She brought over a bunch of baby stuff and clothes for Isaac.”
Hearing about Paloma’s visit made Jason’s smile fade a bit.
He casually said, holding Estrella closer, “Let her do whatever. We don’t need to bother with her.”
“I know,” Estrella responded, conveying her mother’s message.
