30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 457

Taylor seemed utterly unfazed as he said, "Let's get you to a doctor for a check-up, take care of whatever needs taking care of."

He knew more about Leonora's health than she did herself; he had dug into her background thoroughly.

But when it came down to it, no one seemed more fitting to be the mother of his children than Leonora.

Marriage, on the other hand, had never crossed his mind.

Being with Leonora was only a means to get back at Grant, and considering the vast differences in their family backgrounds, he never let his thoughts wander toward marriage.

Leonora's heart raced at Taylor's words.

She said, "Taylor, maybe you should find someone else! It would be more convenient, and besides, my family has this genetic condition."

Taylor responded, "Leonora, don't be scared at the thought of having kids. Every woman goes through this. As for everything else, don't worry too much. I'll take care of it."

In that moment, Taylor spoke with such authority, as if Leonora was his girlfriend, his wife, not just a partner for the night.

Silence fell upon Leonora as she realized Taylor knew her too well; he was just squeezing whatever value she had left in her.

She wouldn't let him have his way. Whether she would bear a child was her decision to make, not his.

When she left, she planned to buy some contraceptives.

Moreover, she wanted to end whatever relationship they had.

After much deliberation, Leonora looked at Taylor with all the courage she could muster and said, "Taylor, let's end this! I can't do this anymore."

Without making excuses or beating around the bush, Leonora spoke her mind.

Taylor's face changed the moment Leonora mentioned splitting up.

He gently pushed her away and asked, "Leonora, do you understand what you're saying? You should know you don't have the power to say no in our situation."

Leonora was well aware she couldn't stand up to him.

Still, she had to make things clear with Taylor; she couldn't keep following him ambiguously.

And there was no way she was going to have a child.

Besides, she had her parents to think about. How could she explain a pregnancy to them?

In their eyes, she was always the obedient child.

If they found out she had been involved with a playboy like Taylor for two years, they would be devastated.

So, she had to break it off with Taylor.

Seeing the coldness in Taylor's eyes, Leonora said, "Taylor, I know I can't win against you, and I have no bargaining power, but I still can't be with you. I can't bear your child, and I'm already 26. I need to return to a normal life."

With each word, it was as if Leonora was twisting a knife in Taylor's heart.

Having no power to negotiate?

So, these two years, she had been with him unwillingly, forced?

He laughed bitterly at the thought. There were women lining up for a chance to be with him, and here was Leonora, acting too proud and wanting to break up.

Getting up from the bed, Taylor pulled up a chair and sat down. He asked, "Is it because Grant is coming back? Is that why you want to end things? Do you want to get back with him?"

Leonora quickly denied, "I swear, breaking up has nothing to do with Grant. I promise I won't get back together with him. I won't even see him or have any contact with him."
