Unloving Him: Marrying the Rival Tycoon novel Chapter 8

But instead of waking up to cold reality, he found himself staring into the most gentle face he had ever seen.

Over the years, he had encountered countless women who wore fake, sugary smiles. They all had hidden agendas, pretending to like him just to get into his father's bed. He despised every single one of them.

But this woman was entirely different. Her smile felt like genuine sunshine. He immediately wished she could be his mom.

"Sweetheart, do you not remember your parents' phone numbers?"

When the boy didn't respond, Summer asked again, her tone dripping with patience.

William stared at her in silence, then slowly shook his head.

"Do you have a cell phone on you? Or maybe a smartwatch?"

Most wealthy parents practically strapped trackers to their children.

Hearing her question, William froze. Acting quickly, he slid his hand under his sleeve, unbuckled his high-tech GPS watch, and shoved it deep under his pillow.

Then, he shook his head again.

Summer sighed inwardly. No emergency contacts and no communication devices meant she only had one option: the campus broadcasting center.

She planned to leave the boy with the doctor while she made the announcement, but the second she stood up, William threw off his blankets and scrambled out of bed, clinging to her leg like a tiny shadow.

"You don't need to come with me, honey. I'm just going to find your parents. You just woke up; you really need to rest."

He completely ignored her, stubbornly trailing her every step.

Amused and slightly defeated, Summer scooped him into her arms and carried him toward the broadcasting station.
