"Keep your money. Try spending it on your kid for a change."
Without another word, she turned on her heel and stormed out of the broadcasting room.
Wyatt stood frozen, his hand still suspended in mid-air, a look of utter bewilderment flashing across his sharp eyes.
He had apologized and offered her enough money to last a lifetime. Why did she look even more furious?
Before he could process it, a loud crash echoed through the room.
William had just violently kicked a chair over, glaring at Wyatt with pure rage.
He stared at his father as if he had just committed an unforgivable war crime.
Being subjected to such unbridled hostility from his own son made Wyatt frown, his tone shifting into strict authority. "William West, have I not told you that throwing tantrums for absolutely no reason is unacceptable?"
William completely ignored him, delivering another vicious kick to the fallen chair with his expensive leather shoes.
Wyatt let out a heavy sigh, effortlessly scooped the thrashing boy under his arm, and marched out of the room, leaving Caleb Knight to deal with the mess.
Trapped under his father's arm, William thrashed like a wild animal, wildly slapping Wyatt's chest. When that failed, he clamped his teeth down hard on Wyatt's hand.
Wyatt gasped in pain and immediately dropped the boy.
His handsome face darkened with terrifying fury. "William West, what the hell is wrong with you today?"
William continued to glare fiercely, but this time, hot, miserable tears spilled down his cheeks.
Seeing his son cry instantly shattered Wyatt's ironclad exterior.
William was born severely premature, spending his first three months fighting for his life in an incubator. Since the day he brought him home, Wyatt had raised him single-handedly. Up until his second birthday, William was a perfectly normal, happy toddler. But then, overnight, he completely stopped speaking.
No amount of coaxing worked. Wyatt flew in the best specialists in the world, only for the boy to be officially diagnosed with selective autism.
