Unloving Him: Marrying the Rival Tycoon novel Chapter 12

Summer never imagined Kelvin would actually call the police just to force a confession and pin the blame on her.

Fine. She had a clear conscience. She wanted to see exactly what he thought he could do to her.

About fifteen minutes later, the stiff, suffocating silence between the three was broken.

Payne rushed over with a young female student wearing a Student Council badge and braided hair. Right behind them were several stern-faced police officers.

"We received a report of theft and physical assault?"

As soon as the officer spoke, Kelvin's glacial gaze landed heavily on Summer.

Following his lead, the police officers shifted their attention to her. Summer's eyes were slightly red, but her face held a scoff of sheer disbelief.

"Officers, what is the penalty for defamation and false accusations?"

She wasn't some helpless victim waiting for the slaughter. If Kelvin wanted to play games, she would match him move for move.

"Depending on the severity, defamation can result in five to ten days of detention. In severe cases, up to three years in prison," an officer replied. "Are you the accused?"

Before Summer could answer, the female student Payne had brought pointed directly at her. "Officers, it's her. An hour ago, I saw her go into Adeline's lounge with my own eyes. She stole the speech."

Summer shot a sharp look at the student who was self-righteously spinning lies without even blinking.

Summer had always possessed an aloof, stunningly radiant complexion. Over the years, she had forced her quiet, unsmiling self to become a bright, chatty ray of sunshine, all in a desperate bid to melt Kelvin's frozen heart.
