Chapter 93
Ethan had barely lowered his phone after speaking with Joseph when another notification lit up the screen.
A text.
From the doctor’s office.
His eyes skimmed the message once, then again, more slowly.
The appointment with the wolf therapist has been confirmed. The therapist is already en route to the mansion for the first session.
Ethan exhaled deeply.
So it was real now.
He had acted quickly after the doctor’s visit, faster than even he had realised. The fear of seeing Meadow convulse on the floor. The sound of her scream. The blood at the corner of her mouth. All of it had carved something raw and helpless into him. Listening to the doctor had been instinctive. Arranging for the therapist had been automatic.
He hadn’t told Meadow.
He feared that just the mention of it would drag her back into that terror, that it might trigger another episode before they even had a chance to understand the first one.
Yet beneath all of that… something darker brewed.
What had happened in the dining room had reached deeper than he wanted to admit.
He had watched his wife collapse.
He had watched her convulse and choke on the floor.
And he had been unable to lift her himself.
Waiting for Joseph to help carry her when she needed him most had sliced through his pride like a blade. He had kept his face calm. He had kept his voice steady. But inside, something had cracked.
For the first time since the accident…
He had felt truly useless.
He wheeled himself slowly toward the living area of their wing. Meadow was seated on the couch, dressed for the morning, the pale light from the tall windows spilling softly over her hair. She looked peaceful now. Too peaceful for everything that had happened.

Chapter 93
“Where is Vikky?” she signed lightly when she noticed him. “I didn’t see her during breakfast.”
He smiled, grateful for the normalcy in the question.
“I had the driver take her to the café where she works,” he replied. “She won’t be coming back until we return from our trip.”
Meadow’s eyes lit up instantly at the mention of their trip. That familiar glow softened something tight in his chest,
He rolled closer until he was right in front of her.
“Meadow,” he said quietly, and reached for her hand.
The moment his skin touched hers, something strange happened.
A pressure bloomed beneath his ribs.
Low.
Deep.
It was faint… but unmistakable.
His wolf stirred.
Not in rage.
Not in aggression.
In warning.
In longing.
In aching awareness.
Ethan’s breath caught.
For years, his wolf had been silent, buried under trauma, broken bones, and the slow erosion of his confidence as Alpha. He had chased physical recovery. He had strengthened what he could. He had ignored what he could not reach.
But now…
With Meadow’s collapse.
With her scream.
With the fragile thread holding his family together…

Chapter 93
Something inside him whispered that strength was not only found in muscles and bone.
It was time to face the other half of himself.
If I can’t protect her physically… then I must protect her with everything else I have.
He looked at Meadow again, hier small hands in his, her trusting eyes waiting for him to speak.
“I’ve sent for a wolf therapist,” he said gently. “For both of us.”
业
Her brows knitted immediately in a frown.
“The doctor said your episode was caused by your wolf,” he continued carefully. “That there’s a disconnect between your human self
and your wolf.”
Meadow’s hands stilled in his.
She turned her face slightly away.
Reluctance radiated from her in waves.
Ethan felt her closing off, but he didn’t let go.
“Sweetheart,” he murmured, tightening his hold just enough to make her feel him, “you screamed yesterday. Everyone heard it. A
real scream. It didn’t come from nowhere.”
Her jaw clenched.
“You have a voice, Meadow,” he went on softly. “So your silence may not be physical. It might be psychological. And that doesn’t
make you broken, it makes you wounded.”
She finally looked at him again.
Fear flickered there.
Memory.
Pain.
Ethan lifted her hand and pressed a kiss to her knuckles. Then another. Then he held her hand to his chest so she could feel his
heart beating.
“I will support you all the way,” he said quietly. “I am not trying to fix anything. I don’t care if you never speak a single word for
the rest of your life.”
Her eyes shimmered.

Chapter 93
“I only care that you are safe,” he continued. “And that what happened at breakfast never happens again. Please… help me profect
you.”
The room seemed to hold its breath.
Meadow searched his face for a long moment.
Then, slowly, she nodded.
Once.
A small, fragile yes.
“Thank you so much,” he whispered, and exhaled the breath he’d been holding since that terrible morning.
Across the mansion, a storm quietly gathered.
Ashley stood before the mirror in her room, staring at her own reflection like it was an enemy.
She had heard the whispers.
About the witness.
About the wolves.
About the death on the outskirts of town.
The truth was closer now.
Closer than it had been in seventeen years.
And that terrified her.
Her hands trembled as they brushed over her stomach.
“What are you going to do now?” she whispered to herself.
Because things were no longer unfolding according to her plans.
Back in Ethan’s wing, a soft knock echoed at the door.
Beatrix entered quietly.
“The therapist has arrived, Alpha.”
Ethan nodded once.

Chapter 93
He turned back to Meadow, his expression gentle but resolute.
“Are you ready?”
Meadow hesitated.
Just for a second.
Then she nodded again.
As Beatrix stepped aside to allow the therapist in, Ethan reached for Meadow’s hand once more.
For the first time in years…
He wasn’t just fighting with his body.
He was fighting with his soul.
And somewhere deep inside, his wolf had finally begun to listen.
