He joined the battle at once. The night exploded around him in scents and impact and rage. Blood. dirt. fear, betrayal. The metallic sting of violence already spilled. The bodies moving too fast. The sharp communication of wolves under attack and wolyes hunting.

Rex did not hesitate. He launched himself into the nearest enemy with a force meant to break.

Then Levi’s voice came through the mind link.

“Where are you?” Levi asked through the link.

Rex was already in motion when Joseph answered.

“The battle is outside the mansion. Most of our warriors have defected. Adam and Brian are on their way, but I doubt we woyld the power to fight them off,” Joseph replied through the link.

After that there was silence from Levi’s end. Joseph did not have time to question it because the battle demanded everything at

once. He began to tear through his attackers. There was no looking back for him now. No thought of retreat. No fantasy that this

would somehow calm down if he held out long enough. The terms were simple in his mind. He either subdued the attackers, or they

subdued him. There was no middle ground left. No safe compromise. So Joseph let go harder than he usually did. He gave Rex full

reign.

And Rex was merciless. He pounced on one enemy wolf and drove it hard into the ground, forcing the breath from it in a choking

grunt before going for the neck. His jaws closed with brutal precision. Bone crushed. Flesh tore. Then he let go and moved on before

the body had even properly stopped twitching.

Another wolf came at him from the side. Rex dodged the first hit, twisted, and attacked while the other wolf was still trying to

regain balance. There was no wasted motion in him. He was not fighting for sport. Not proving dominance in some ritualised pack

way. He was on a killing spree because that was the only language the night had left them.

Everywhere around him was motion and violence. A growl to the left. A body slamming into another. A scream in the distance. The

ground churned under too many feet and paws. Joseph could feel how badly outnumbered they were even while he kept fighting.

Whitewood had not only been attacked. It had been prepared for. Studied. Entered from within. Every second that passed made the

betrayal clearer.

Then Levi came. He emerged into the battle in wolf form, Enzo taking over fully, and the sight of him almost made Joseph snarl

with relief. Enzo was huge, brown, intimidating in a way that drew the eye at once even in the middle of bloodshed. He did not

come hesitantly either. He came like a man who had already decided there was no point surviving this unless he fought properly

through it.

He joined Rex, and together they hit the attackers as a team. Then Adam and Brian arrived too, both in wolf form, both moving with

the deadly focus of men who knew exactly what the night demanded, Joseph did not need words from them. It was clear in the way

they entered the chaos. They understood the mission. Hold the estate. Protect the house. Kill what needed killing.

But that was when things worsened. Because soon the treacherous Whitewood warriors began to attack openly too. The ones who should have been standing beside them turned. No more hiding. No more uncertainty. The betrayal took shape right in front of
