Chapter 15
Meadow wanted desperately to disappear.
Amber’s words clung to her skin like poison, making it hard to breathe, much less swallow. The humiliation sat at the centre of her chest like a hot stone. She lowered her head, pushing her food around her plate, pretending not to hear the sting in Ashley’s giggle or the disgust in Luna Amber’s tone.
She could not eat.
She could not fight.
She could only sit and endure.
“I forbid you,” Ethan growled, voice low and vibrating with Alpha authority he rarely used anymore.
Amber straightened, unflinching.
“I own the sperm and can do whatever I want with it,” she said coldly. “You gave me absolute rights. I want grandchildren from you, Ethan, and I will get them.”
Then she turned to Meadow with icy precision.
“Your appointment is at two in the afternoon. The doctor will examine you and determine the appropriate procedure. Am I clear?”
Meadow nodded, tears rolling freely down her cheeks.
She didn’t bother hiding them.
Not now.
Not when her body was no longer her own.
Ethan watched the tears fall. His jaw tightened with a restrained fury that looked as though it physically hurt him to hold back.
Breakfast ended in thick, suffocating silence.
They left the dining room together, one rolling in quiet rage, one walking in silent devastation, and returned to their room.
The moment the door shut, Ethan exploded.
“Why would you sign such a document?” His voice cracked with anger more than accusation.

Chapter 15
She wiped her tears, sniffing quietly, before raising trembling hands to sign:
IT CAME AS A PRENUPTIAL AGREEMENT.

The truth hit him like a punch.
His mother had tricked Meadow. Slipped the clause into papers her mute daughter-in-law could not question. Manipulated the girl’s trust
and desperation.
Ethan’s expression darkened.
“Of course she did,” he muttered bitterly.
Before Meadow could calm him, before she could sign it’s okay, Ethan wheeled himself toward the door.
“Stay here,” he commanded harshly. “Do not follow me.”
And then he was gone, rolling down the corridor like a storm breaking loose.
Amber was working at her desk when he barged in, the door slamming against the wall with force.
She looked up, startled. She did not expect an outburst, not from her quiet, withdrawn son.
“What is the meaning of this?” she snapped.
Ethan rolled forward, face carved in fury.
“Why are you doing this?” His voice shook with something deeper than anger, a wounded confusion. “Why would you choose this path,
Mother?”
Amber’s expression softened into sorrow. She pressed a hand to her heart, tears gathering in her eyes.
“You are my first son,” she said, voice trembling. “The true Alpha of this pack. Yet you have no heit. When you had that accident, when you were fighting for your life, I thought,” her voice broke, “, I thought you would die.”
Her tears fell.
“And leave nothing behind.”
Ethan shook his head in disbelief.
“You asked me to donate sperm for emergencies,” he reminded her sharply. “Not to use as you please.”
“You shut yourself off from society,” Amber cried. “Yes, Cynthia left you for someone else, but you must not give up on life because of her.

Chapter 15
I introduced you to countless women, and you chased them away.”
Ethan let out a humourless laugh, sharp, bitter, painful.
“Do you actually believe that? That I scared them away?” His voice was low, wounded. “Mother… they weren’t interested. They saw a cripple. A former Alpha with broken legs and a broken future. I wasn’t desirable to them anymore.”
Amber’s eyes widened.
Deep down, she had known this. She had suspected. But hearing it aloud, from her son’s own lips, pierced through her delusions.
“So yes,” Ethan continued, “they left. Or avoided me. All of them.”
Silence stretched.
Amber stared at him, not with pity, but with determination.
“This is why I chose Meadow,” she said, voice steady again. “A girl who won’t leave
