Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1330

Meanwhile, far away in Aethelgard, Mira and Ethan were sitting in their office, listening to their informants report on the situation back in Melvion City.

Mira turned to Ethan. “Do you think Damon and Lucas's cash flow problems are because Fiona is deliberately withholding funds, or is the Mercer Group actually broke?”

After Ethan had left, Adrian had elevated Fiona to a critical position; she was now acting as the Secretary of Finance for the Mercer Group.

“They're withholding the funds on purpose. The so-called cash shortage is just a convenient excuse.”

Ethan answered without a moment's hesitation.

“A massive conglomerate like the Mercer Group, no matter how tight money gets, wouldn't be missing the petty cash needed for basic research grants or propping up an entertainment label.”

“If they keep tearing the company apart like this, who is going to end up with the bulk of the Mercer estate?”

Mira frowned, her delicate brow furrowing.

With her phenomenal ability to generate wealth, she didn't care about the Mercer family's assets. Moreover, in this life, she truly had no real connection to the Mercer Group.

But Mira still felt a gnawing reluctance. She simply couldn't stomach the thought of the Mercer legacy falling into the hands of her enemies from her past life.

“Ethan, are we really just going to sit back and let the company fall into Fiona's or Porter Entertainment's lap?”

“Never.”

Ethan smiled, his tone radiating absolute certainty.

Mira thought about it for a second and instantly grasped the underlying strategy. “So, you kept a trump card up your sleeve?”

“Of course. How could I let them trample all over our family's ancestral legacy? Anyone harboring ulterior motives is going to face a bitter end.”

“That sets my mind at ease. I wish you the best of luck.”
